My Journey to Escape the War in Gaza

My name is Abdelmajed. I never imagined I’d be sharing my story like this, but life in Gaza has become unbearable. I am a survivor of the war here, and in the blink of an eye, everything I once knew—my home, my safety, my community—was ripped away from me.

My Journey To Escape The War In Gaza

The war has transformed Gaza into a graveyard of broken dreams. The buildings that once stood as symbols of life and resilience are now piles of rubble. Every corner is filled with the echoes of explosions. Every moment is shrouded in uncertainty. There is no security. There is no stability. There is no light at the end of the tunnel.

Basic needs have become luxuries. Food is scarce. Clean water is even scarcer. Hospitals are overwhelmed and under-resourced, and there is almost no medical care to be found. Every night, families go to bed hungry, praying they’ll wake up to see another day. The cost of basic necessities has skyrocketed, and it’s become a daily battle just to survive.

I’ve seen things I never thought possible—standing in long lines for a piece of bread, rationing every drop of water, and watching my people suffer in silence. I have lost everything—my home, my safety, my dignity.

Escape from Gaza is my only hope, but it’s almost impossible without financial help. The cost of evacuation is far beyond my means, and without support, I’m trapped in a warzone with no way out.

I’m reaching out to you now, in the hopes that someone, anyone, can help. I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for a chance—just a chance—to live. A chance to escape this never-ending cycle of fear, destruction, and loss. A chance to rebuild my life somewhere safe, where I can begin again, where I can find hope once more.

I've been messaging back and forth with @mohammedalanqer after he shared his fundraiser with me, and very quickly into our conversation I offered to draw a comic about him to help boost his gofundme. he was incredibly excited about the idea and shared so many lovely pictures of his family for reference. the text is based off his story of him and his family living under constant bombardment, which you can read here.

I've Been Messaging Back And Forth With @mohammedalanqer After He Shared His Fundraiser With Me, And

he has been able to raise €50,403 out of €58,000, meaning he only has €7,592 left to be able to evacuate. please share this comic as much as possible so that he can reach his goal!

My little brother Ahmad is just a child.

My Little Brother Ahmad Is Just A Child.

He doesn’t understand war. He doesn’t know what a blockade means, or why Dad can’t buy us chocolate anymore.

Every day he grabs a pen and paper, draws toys and colors, and says to me:

“Can you ask them to bring us this?”

I smile… but it breaks me inside.

He asks for simple things—while we’re out here searching for electricity, water, and bread.

He keeps asking:

“Why is there no internet?”

“Why did the world go dark?”

And I don’t know what to say… except:

A war is stealing his childhood.

We haven’t received any donations in three days.

My Little Brother Ahmad Is Just A Child.

No food boxes, no help, no message of hope.

And Ahmad still draws… still waits… still believes someone will answer.

Please, if you’re reading this—help us keep his hope alive.

Even the smallest support means the world here.

Any amount you give me will help me a lot, even if it is $10.

fahed and reem are the parents to five children. the prolonged attack on gaza and subsequent destruction of everything they've known has forced them to fundraise, but the oldest, sahar (@fahedshehab9), has been making videos to help spread the word. the thought of a young girl advocating for her family's survival in front of the world is as heartbreaking 10 months into cruel bombardment as it was on october 7, october 6, 2023, 2014, 2008, and every single day since 1948 when palestine was first shattered.

Fahed And Reem Are The Parents To Five Children. The Prolonged Attack On Gaza And Subsequent Destruction

this is the current progress of their fundraiser. sahar has done a wonderful job spreading the word so far, but as of posting, they still need €18,634 to meet their goal.

please help her and her family by sharing, reposting with the link, and donating what you're able!

EDIT (AUG 29): due to circumstances explained below, the goal has been increased to include her aunt and her family. please continue to donate and share!

Fahed And Reem Are The Parents To Five Children. The Prolonged Attack On Gaza And Subsequent Destruction
a screenshot of two messages. the first reads: "Thank you so much💞". the second reads: "I had to increase the campaign goal because my sister cannot create a campaign of her own, so we increased my campaign goal to include her, her husband, and her children with my family.
My sister has two sons and a daughter in addition to her husband
My sister is a part of me and I cannot leave her alone in these difficult circumstances
I hope everyone will support me with all their strength
The burden has increased on my shoulders
I know that you will stand with me and help me 🙏❤️"

CURRENT PROGRESS (09/01):

Danger and death surround us all day and all night. The genocide in Ghazzah has caused permanent effects on those who survived it. Many Ghazzans have lost their homes, their health, and their loved ones. Many survivors are still at risk of more serious health effects due to being deprived of food, shelter, and medical care for so long. However, with swift action and support for Ghazzans, you can help them heal and avoid more suffering.

One person you can help is Suham Bader. Suham's arm was injured over a year ago, but she was not able to recieve treatment for it as her family was forced to flee their home. Without medical treatment, her bone fused incorrectly. During a year of suffering through cold and pain, Suham's condition has kept getting worse. Her parents and her uncle @hashembadr are very worried for her. If Suham does not recieve surgery soon, she will lose her arm entirely.

A photo of Suham, a young girl with an injured arm. There is blood on her face and her arm, which is twisted.
An x-ray of Suham's arm. The bone is visibly not healed well.

Hashem and his family have been fundraising for almost a year now, but they have only reached 14% of their goal so far. They urgently need funds for Suham to get the surgery she require, but donations keep stopping for days at a time. They still need to raise around £4900 to cover the price of surgery and the transfer costs.

Suham is just a kid. She's lost her home and has gone through a year of unimaginable trauma. Please, help her get the surgery she needs. It's all her family is asking right now. Your donation and sharing their campaign both make a difference in her life.

My name is Abed.

I’m a survivor from Gaza, holding on to hope in a world that has fallen apart around me. 💔

The life I once knew — my home, my family, my sense of safety — has been shattered by war. Today, I live among the ruins, trying to find a path forward through the rubble and heartbreak. 🏚

Every moment is a battle against fear and uncertainty. What was once ordinary — a safe place to sleep, a future to dream of — now feels like a distant memory. 🕊️

I share my story not to seek pity, but to keep hope alive — to believe that even in the darkest places, kindness can still find a way. 🤍

If my story touches your heart, please consider sharing it or offering support. Every voice, every act of care, brings me one step closer to safety. ✨

Thank you for taking the time to listen. 🙏

New update for the Modern Holocaust in Gaza ‼️‼️

The last attempt for ceasefire is gone after Trump left the middle East without giving any hope about us so this is the end in Gaza 💔💔😭😭 🥺🥺🥺 ((killing+starvation)))

We lost hope this time and they will kill the rest of us by bombing or by starving so please read this and share as much as you can 🙏🙏🥺‼️

My full story 🙏💔

I'm Areej I was an English teacher and a creative writer at we are not numbers before war and everything change after October 7. Also I'm a creative writer at we are not numbers.

Dear my kind donors!

I am a mother of three children. We have lived through the war for a year and a half, and we have lost everything we own. My husband is a man who did not work. Before the war, I did not have a breadwinner or any source of income. During the war I didn't give up to teach so I volunteered and had good chance to help some students to get engaged again with English in a very creative way.

⛔️⛔️STOP⛔️⛔️

Please Save those innocent kids from war 🥺‼️🙏🙏

We are in tents for almost two years because our home was destroyed and my kids are starving now with no enough food  😭‼️🥺After our several evacuation from place to another. Now we don't have a house after it was destroyed by missiles. I now ask you to help me rebuild my house. And buy basics for the daily essentials for my children and I need money so that we can stand up again and start again.

This war wasn't easy at all it has taken many friends at work, students and some of my colleagues at the university. They are almost ten souls I won't never forget . Their laughter, their presence, their love… all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.

My lovely students before war 🥺

⛔️⛔️STOP⛔️⛔️

My lovely home 💔💔‼️

⛔️⛔️STOP⛔️⛔️

Here’s what life in Gaza looks like for my family right now:

🏠 Safety: The uncertainty of tomorrow weighs heavily on us.

😢 Loss: The absence of my students and my friends is really hurts.

💔 Dreams on Hold: The future feels so far away when survival takes all our strength.

Note to mention the other very expensive essential goods. I hope you will stand by me to get food

The crossings boarders are closed again these days and war return in Gaza.  The crossing through which food enters has been closed for more than 30 days. We have nothing to eat, and even if we do, the prices are exorbitant. Some of the prices listed are:

1 kg of meat = $100 now there is no meat

1 chicken = 70$ there is no chicken

1 kg of fish = 100$ now it costs 200$

1 bag of flour = $200 now it costs 600$

1 kg of cooking gas = $150 now it costs 1000$

1 kg of sugar = $50

1 kg of eggplant = $20

1 kg of onions = $50

1 kg of tomatoes = $20

How You Can Help Us Cross the Finish Line

Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:

. $5 might not seem like much, but it could mean a meal, clean water, or a tiny bit of hope for my family.

. Can’t donate? Reblog this post to help us reach someone who can. Every share matters more than you know.

To help me and my family you can donate here or at least you can share this post to people who can support us in gaz

To sump up I'm seeking for help, I'm trying to scrape together the $800 monthly rent, that's all I need each month for my kids and to get some food for us 🙏😭💔

So Sorry For tagging you guys randomly but this is the only way to reach more people and to gain your attention please help me sharing my story to people who care about Palestinians 💔🙏🙏‼️🇵🇸

Help Me Fulfill My Dream of Returning to Gaza

Help Me Fulfill My Dream Of Returning To Gaza

All I want is to return to Gaza… to my home, or what’s left of it, to embrace the memories within its broken walls. I miss seeing my neighbors who were like family to me, and my friends who carry with them the stories of my life. I miss the sound of the mosques’ call to prayer, the scent of the sea, and the streets that hold my steps, my tears, and my dreams.

But the reality is harsh… I’m stranded far away, unable to afford the journey back. Gaza is not just a place; it’s my soul, my home, my life. Returning means reuniting with my loved ones, reclaiming a part of myself lost in the chaos of war and displacement.

I’m not asking for much… just enough to help me get back to my roots, to my homeland, to where my heart truly belongs. Your support, no matter how small, means the world to me. Every contribution brings me one step closer to my home, my memories, and a new hope that I’m not alone in this world.

Please help me make this dream come true by donating through the link below:

“I Am Incredibly Happy And Proud That My Campaign Has Reached €1000, Even Though The Journey Was

“I am incredibly happy and proud that my campaign has reached €1000, even though the journey was long and took about 6 months of continuous effort. 🙏❤️ This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without your incredible support and encouragement, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who stood by us during these difficult times due to the war.”

“However, we are still in desperate need to meet our family’s basic needs in these harsh conditions. We have several urgent requirements, such as:

1. A water-resistant tent (costs around €1000).

2. Blankets to keep us warm in this freezing cold (costs around €50 per blanket).

3. New mattresses, as the ones we have are no longer usable (costs around €50 per mattress).

4. Daily expenses like food, water, and other basic necessities.

“Every donation, no matter how small, helps improve our situation and brings us closer to surviving this crisis. We need your help in these critical times to keep going.”

“Thank you all for your continued support and generosity, which means the world to us. You are the hope we are holding onto during these difficult times.”

We’re Drowning in Rain and Cold 🥶

While Some Celebrate Christmas 🎄

While Some Celebrate Christmas 🎄

Hello everyone,

My name is Mahmoud Naeem Abu Hatab, a young man displaced from Gaza. While many around the world are celebrating Christmas 🎄, enjoying warm meals and cozy gatherings with loved ones, my family and I are struggling to survive under heartbreaking conditions.

While Some Celebrate Christmas 🎄

The heavy rain has completely flooded our tent, leaving us shivering in the freezing cold ❄️ without proper shelter, food, or warm clothing. This winter feels like it might be our last if we can’t find help soon.

While Some Celebrate Christmas 🎄

Our Reality vs. the World’s Joy:

• While homes are lit with decorations and people are exchanging gifts 🎁, we’re battling dampness, hunger, and the biting cold.

• We don’t have blankets, jackets, or even enough food to make it through the day.

• My dream of completing my education and creating a better future is slipping away after losing my laptop during the evacuation.

While Some Celebrate Christmas 🎄

How You Can Make a Difference:

I’ve started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for:

1. Finding a warm, safe place for my family to stay.

2. Buying food, warm clothing, and blankets.

3. Replacing my lost laptop so I can continue my university studies in software development.

Why Your Help Matters:

This season is about giving and spreading joy ✨. By contributing to our campaign, you can bring warmth and hope to a family in desperate need. No donation is too small—it all helps us move closer to safety and dignity. If you can’t donate, please share our story and campaign link with your friends and family.

A Final Message From the Heart:

While others are singing carols and enjoying festive meals 🍗, we’re drowning in cold rain, praying for survival. Please don’t forget families like mine during this season of giving. Your kindness and generosity can be our lifeline.

While Some Celebrate Christmas 🎄

Thank you for reading, supporting, and sharing our story. May this holiday season bring blessings to all.

“Thank you so much for your support and for sharing my story—it truly means the world to me and my family during these difficult times.

I dream of becoming a UX/UI designer and web developer, working hard to develop my skills so I can contribute to my community despite the challenges of war.

I need your support to continue this journey and rebuild my future. Every share or donation makes a huge difference and brings me closer to achieving this dream.

Thank you to everyone who helps spread my story or supports me in any way. Your kindness is the light I need right now. If you could share this post with your friends, I would be deeply grateful!”

“My Dream Is Still Alive Despite the Rubble”

“My Dream Is Still Alive Despite The Rubble”
“My Dream Is Still Alive Despite The Rubble”

My dream has always been to become a UX/UI designer and a web developer. This dream has been my compass toward a better future for me and my family, giving my life meaning and hope despite the challenges.

“My Dream Is Still Alive Despite The Rubble”
“My Dream Is Still Alive Despite The Rubble”

But the war in Gaza turned our lives upside down. We lost our home, my university, and even the laptop I relied on for learning and work. We were displaced to the southern part of Gaza, where we suffer daily from power outages and limited internet access. Despite these circumstances, my heart still clings to hope, and I refuse to give up on my dream.

I am not just asking for support to acquire equipment; I am asking for a chance to rebuild my future—not just for myself, but for my family as well. I believe that every challenge holds an opportunity, and I am determined to turn this hardship into a story of success.

Why Do I Need Your Support?

To continue my education and pursue my dream, I need some essential tools to help me learn and work under these harsh conditions:

• Laptop: $2,000

• Solar Panel: $2,000

• Power Inverter: $1,000

• 100Ah Battery: $1,000

Total Cost: $6,000.

So far, I’ve managed to raise €975 through my GoFundMe campaign, but I need to reach €7,000 to cover all costs.

“My Dream Is Still Alive Despite The Rubble”

My Vision for the Future:

My ambition is not just to complete my studies but also to use my skills to support my community in Gaza. I aim to train young people in programming and design so we can contribute to building a better future despite the challenges we face.

Why Your Contribution Matters:

Your donation is not just helping me personally but is an investment in a young man determined to empower his community. I aspire to become a role model for Palestinian youth, showing that resilience and creativity can overcome any obstacle.
