Y’all, let’s pretend it’s still Feb 14
this thing has literally been chilling in my drafts since the first part of this series 😭 so, uh, if anything seems off, it’s because I wrote this before I wrote parts 2-6
Hope you enjoy! This entry contains a very small reference to Episode/Book 1
PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4 | PART 5 | PART 6 | END [!]
You enter the library. Your mind was still racing from the possibilities of your…admirer? Ugh, it was still weird to think about! Who could it be!?
You weren't even here for the books but it would be nice to maybe get some studying done. There was a big exam coming up soon or so you had heard from Riddle. You sigh and get to work, gathering books.
Plus, Ace and Deuce wouldn't come find you here anyway. You had dropped Grim-sitting duty on them, which in retrospect, wasn't a good idea. If anything did happen, you had no part in that. You'll bail them out of the consequences later.
You'd been here a few times before. After all, you were a complete stranger to this world and the library seemed like the best place to find out more. Since you weren't from this world, you could treat this just like reading the lore of a fictional world. That made things fun for you.
You made your way to your spot at the back of the library. Nobody usually goes back there so you've laid claim to it as your private reading spot. The books you've compiled completely block your view so you carefully put them down, watching your step. You pull a chair out and you freeze.
The soft sound of breathing and a light inconsistent thumping. You look beyond your pile of books. There lies a slumbering man, head laying on his arms as he's slumped over the table.
He has messy brown locks, there are two braids framing his face. His unbuttoned shirt and rolled up sleeves gave off the impression he was rather careless with his appearance. You really hated how he appeared to give off that 'I woke up like this' look but still managed to look gorgeous. Most notable of all, of course, were the fuzzy lion ears on top of his head and the furry tail with a tassel of fur at the end.
You stare silently. Internally, your thoughts are going off like a lightning round.
Who is this guy? Is this a beastman? Should I be scared? Is this a good time to run? Will he wake up? What will I do if he wakes up? Can I even outrun a beastman? If he's not a cat, what is he-
He shifts. His head leans slightly to the side, off his arms. He does this rather gracefully and now you can see his beautiful features that just scream 'big trouble'. Oh boy, that scar is not helping your heart. You're starting to understand your admirer. It does indeed feel like an oncoming heart attack.
You notice him shivering just a little. Maybe beastmen were simply more sensitive to the cold draft. It is basically Winter after all and you've definitely had it hard living in Ramshackle. You sigh and shrug off your blazer.
Hoping you don't wake him up, you gently lay it over him. You tense as the tassel at the end of his tail thumps against the chair. His ears twitch and your heart clenches.
It's adorable, the animal traits. Especially on a handsome guy like that? Well, the gap here was gigantic. Paired with the scar, it gave him a roguish-edge that would make anyone swoon.
Wait a second. A scar? You stop and gasp rather loudly. You quickly slap a hand over your own mouth. His ears twitch and you pray to the great sevens he hasn't woken up.
It's the grouchy guy from the botanical garden! The last time you had seen him he was threatening to bite your face off or something and you hadn't paid attention to his face. Aha! So you were right, all the attractive people here were the worst.
His name was Leona, or so you had assumed. That's what Ruggie had called him that day. Ah, stupid! You knock yourself on the head. If only you had recognized him sooner!
You had met him other times before in the botanical garden again. Your conversations were always awkward with him making sly remarks and implications about mauling you.
Once he was in a better mood though, he made an okay conversational partner. Leona was rather intelligent and sometimes he threw some advice at you when you were doing your homework. Of course, that was because of his weird superiority complex over you.
You never really paid attention to his face though, the first time he had looked at you was intimidating enough. You never asked for his name either. Your mind must've repressed the details of his face in your head.
You hadn't gotten the chance to speak to him again since everything just…happened with Heartslabyul. He had completely slipped your mind as you were reeling from the incident. You felt kind of bad.
You glumly wondered if you could get your blazer back. But then again, you didn't want him to freeze to death. But then again, if you took it from Leona now, you could leave your future nuisance cold. Wait, that was kind of mean. He was kind of friendly and helpful sometimes.
You wish the guys here weren't so complicated but you had to admit, that was their charm. Yes, they were all jerks. You're starting to think Stockholm syndrome is sinking in.
With a sigh, you take a seat and open a book. You sneak a glance at the beastman to find he's still sleeping like a rock. Leona's no longer shivering. I just let him have the jacket because I don't want to risk waking him. You reason to yourself.
You bring your focus back to the book you're currently reading as you try to ignore Leona. Dang it, even when he's not doing anything, he manages to captivate your attention. You huff but keep your eyes on the book.
What feels like about a few minutes later, you lower the book with a sigh. "Oh my great-" You try not to scream.
His lidded emerald eyes bore into you, pinning you still. A tiny amused smile plays at his lips as his . You nearly threw your book at him out of sheer shock.
"You- How long were you awake?" You calm yourself down with deep breaths as you still look at him wide-eyed. "Hm, long enough." Leona makes a low hum, there's still a calm smile on his face.
"That's very specific." You respond. Silence fills the air as you try to hold a staring contest with him. You don't really feel like returning to your book. His green eyes just keep drawing you in. You wonder how deep they go. You might've been imagining it but they were really bright.
"Hm, like what you see?"
Your face turns red as you groan. You drop your head into the table. "No, stop. This is the worst Valentines day." You grumble.
"Tell me about it." You hear him reply, you hate how every time he speaks, your heart skips a beat. You're starting to understand your admirer. "Don't patronize me. You're attractive and cool, you got a bunch of confessions or something." You snap. You're just stating the obvious when you call him that.
"What? There's nothing to be jealous about. Valentines is a day just like any other, where some win and others lose." Leona drawls. "Ugh, yeah. At least there was free food." You mumble, then you remember Ruggie. "Wait no, my food got stolen by that jerk." You scowl.
You're still face down on the table. You notice his tail underneath the table. You watch as it inches closer to you.
"Did you like the candy hearts?"
You freeze. You didn't…nobody but Ace, Deuce and Grim should've known the contents of that pouch. Of course, the only exception would be the-
You shoot up from, just as you feel the tassel of his tail wrap itself around your ankle and pull. You fall forward onto the table, inches away from hitting the wood.
"Wow, what the heck was th-" You shout before you look up. You can feel his breath tickle your face but more importantly, those green eyes. The orange vest meant he was a Savanaclaw student if the animal features weren't already a dead giveaway.
"You…You're Leona Kingscholar, the dorm head of Savanaclaw." You pause.
"That's right. I would've thought you'd figure this out sooner." He snorts softly. Leona looks at you expectantly to continue.
"And…"
"And?"
"You're my secret admirer."
You're this close to banging your hand against the table if it turns out you're completely wrong.
"So, you finally caught me."
You breathe out a giant sigh of relief, leaning back into your seat. "Oh thank the great sevens!" You laugh, wiping tears of joy and relief from the corner of your eyes. You lay back and laugh some more.
"You're…that overjoyed that your secret admirer was me?" Leona looks incredulously at you. You stop to breathe, you realize how weird this probably looks to him. "Uh, um…" You consider his question carefully.
You blink at him blankly as you think. He sighs after a moment. "Ahh, I get it. So, it's a rejection." He grumbles. "No, no, i-it's not like that!" You frantically shook your head.
"I…I accept. You're cool. I want to get to know you better first though? Like, why were you so confident I wouldn't reciprocate?" You raise an eyebrow. To your surprise, a subtle blush somewhat forms on his face as his eyes widened only slightly.
"I don't know if you're really that dense to not notice. Most people don't like me, herbivore." He growls, tail flailing around lazily. "But, Bucchi seems to like you plenty and those Savanaclaw students cared enough to cover up for you." You frown.
"That's because I pay Ruggie and those students fear me too much to say anything." Leona snorts. "Hm…I don't think that's true at all." You sigh,
"You're very intelligent, cool and most of all- You're pretty pretty." You pull a cringe face that immediately gives you secondhand embarrassment…from yourself. Leona seems to think it's dumb because he shoves his hand in your face and pushes you back.
"Ah, okay. I get it." You groan, grabbing his hand off your face. Leona smirks, his fingers intertwining with yours.
Your face turns red, being around this man would do you no good.

PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4 | PART 5 | PART 6 [!] | END
"Beauté! How merveilleux!" You squint, shielding your eyes.
"Fygaa! He's so shiny dazo!" Grim grunts. "You've finally decided to seek me out, a smart decision, Trickster!" Rook Hunt was a very bizarre student. As a Pomefiore student, an NRC student on top of that, he was naturally eccentric and beautiful.
Yet he has that edge to him that makes you want to run far, far away from him. "Uh, I'll just leave you all to it…make sure Rook doesn't blow anything up." Trey quickly closes the door behind him.
"Trey, don't leave us!" Ace whines, placing his hand on the door. "Tell me when you're done." They could hear Trey's voice getting further, he has definitely ditched them. "It's not time to be a coward, Ace!" Deuce nudged him.
"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Hunt." You decide to wave as he stood up and took you by the hand. He gives a light peck to your hands and looks up at you with those cunning green eyes. You squeak and flinch.
"Oh my great sevens, ew." Ace groans, covering his eyes. Deuce stands on the side awkwardly watching the interaction. "You smell funny dazo." Grim sniffs the air, looking warily at the Pomefiore vice dorm head. The more accurate assumption was that Rook Hunt simply did not smell, at all.
"Don't be rude, Grim." You scold him. "I've already known about you for a while, mx. It's merveilleux to meet you in person! My name is Rook Hunt, at your service." Rook introduces himself properly. "You can just call me Rook, Trickster." He adds with a smile.
"Okay." You simply nod, this guy weirded you out. From the way he had spoken to you, you could already assume he knew of your situation. You are fairly sure Rook was stalking either your admirer or you.
"So, you know about the thing…?" You ask just to confirm. "Oui! You've come to the right person to find your prince charmant!" Rook nods eagerly. "Good! Then, spill! Tell me who it is!" You also eagerly lean forward.
"Fufu! But I cannot expose one's secrets as le Chasseur d'Amour!" Your face freezes before it turns into an empty expression of despair. You slowly sink to the floor, you wish to become part of the floor.
Life might be easier if I were the floor. I could just exist all day…not needing to worry about any overblots or secret admirers. I could get stepped on all day by hot- Wait. I don't want that… You blinked blankly.
"[Name], are you okay!?" Deuce shakes you frantically. "Why am I here…just to suffer?" You weakly grunt, flailing limply in his arms. "Henchman, you owe me tuna dazo!" Grim joins in shaking you, the best he could with his little paws anyway.
"Oh my! What a tearful display of peine d'amour!"
"Alright, enough being dramatic! Hey, you! This is your fault." You hear Ace snap. "Oh, how your compagnons care for you." You spot Rook wiping tears from the corners of his eyes. "Ugh." You grumble.
"There's no need to worry, Trickster! As Monsieur Dandelion said, he indeed has eyes the colour of emeralds and he is indeed a student of Savanaclaw as you merveilleusement guessed!" Rook finally provides you a few hints. Deuce stops shaking you as you slowly get up.
"Ace, I think we are going to be looking into every Savanaclaw students' eyes." You turn to face Ace, with a serious look on your face. He scrunches up his nose. "No way, you can do that on your own." Ace rolls his eyes, looking away from you. "Maybe we should ask Cater again…" Deuce suggests.
"There's no way he would keep track of something like that, idiot." Ace scoffs. "Oi! I don't see you making any helpful suggestions!" He glares at Ace. "Aghh, I'm getting hungry again from thinking about our lost sandwich dazo!" Grim groans, rolling on the floor. "I'm sorry!" You wail, you really didn't mean to give Ruggie the sandwich.
"Excuse me." The door to the alchemy classroom opens suddenly, a tall man with teal hair and mismatched yellow eyes stepped into the room.
"Monsieur Prémédité!" Rook greeted him cheerfully. "Hello, Rook." The new student smiled politely in response. His eyes did a quick scan of the room, those heterochromia eyes landing on…you?!
You wave awkwardly. Ace slaps your hand down. You give him a questioning look but he continues staring skeptically at the student. You look to Deuce to find he looks a bit unsure as well. This might've been some weird dorm tension so you observe the student's armband.
Octavinelle? You try your best to recall what Cater and Trey had told you that day. It's based on the Sea Witch and its main trait is compassion. Probably has a lot of mermen, right? You still don't understand how this relates to beef with Heartslabyul or Ace. You swear to the Great Sevens, how did he get into the bad graces of so many students already?
"Oh, are you busy at the moment? I could come back later." He turns back to Rook. "Hold on a moment, Trickster. What are you here for, Monsieur Prémédité?" Rook asks, turning his attention to the Octavinelle student.
"Just the special fertilizer for mushrooms. Are they still in the cupboard?" He asks politely, staring at the cupboard behind you.
You quickly shuffle aside nervously. The Octavinelle student notices this and you hear him chuckle quietly. Please hurry up and leave. The audacity of these guys.
"You've gotten Crewel's permission, oui?" Rook tilts his head. "Yes. For my alchemy project this week." He nods. "You're working on luminescent fungi, correct? It's in the cupboard, Monsieur Prémédité." He gestures to the cupboard.
"Fufu, yes, that's correct. I wonder how you figured out already." The Octavinelle student laughs, he walks toward the cupboard and crouches down.
"If I may be so presumptuous, your name is [Name], correct?" He suddenly asks you. You weren't that surprised. You're rather infamous due to the welcoming ceremony incident and then the chandelier one.
"Yeah, it's uh, nice to meet you, Mr…?" You trail off awkwardly. "Jade Leech. Fufufu, I saw you were running around campus, asking for someone." He smiled, amused. You flushed. You probably did look like a headless chicken, huh?
It was too late for your dignity here anyway. "O-Oh, uh, yeah." You nod. "Do you by chance know a Savanaclaw student with green eyes, Leech?" Deuce asks hopefully. "Hey, don't go asking everyone, it's too vague anyway, stupid." Ace scoffs, he's still staring skeptically at Jade.
"A Savanaclaw student with green eyes, hm? Why exactly are you looking for them, if I may ask?" He tilts his head, still rummaging through the cupboard. "Reasons…?" You offer unconvincingly. "Fufufu, well, if you don't wish to tell me, I wouldn't want any student getting into trouble because of me." Jade replies, pulling out a bag of fertilizer. He easily pries Grim away from trying to get into the bag of fertilizer.
"Fygaa! You're too crazy strong dazo!" He scowls, shuffling to your side. "Can you even eat fertilizer…?" You squint at him doubtfully.
"We don't need your help then." Ace snaps, yanking you further from Jade. "Fufu, there's no need to be so wary. I'll offer you a free hint. He's an important figure in the Savanaclaw hierarchy." Jade smiles, standing up to his full height.
Important position? You weren't quite sure what that meant. The only thing you could think was either the dorm head or the vice dorm head. You don't even know if this information is to be trusted. Before you can even thank or ask him about that, he turns toward Rook.
"I'll be taking my leave now, thank you for allowing me to borrow this." Jade thanks Rook with a nod. "No problem, Monsieur Prémédité! Just be sure to return it when you're done." Rook beams back.
"[Name], if you ever need any assistance or advice, the doors of Mostro Lounge are always open." Jade offers before shutting the door behind him. His heterochromia eyes twinkle with amusement and you're definitely freaked out by this guy.
"Ugh, that guy gave me the heebie-jeebies dazo!" Grim declares rather loudly. "Ah, watch it! Don't say stuff so loudly like that, you're gonna get caught!" Ace hurriedly glares at him, still glancing warily at the door. "Um, that was…interesting to say the least." You laugh nervously.
"We won't take up any more of your time now, Rook. Thank you for the information." You want to leave as quickly as possible to collect your thoughts. "Thank you so much for the help!" Deuce adds as well.
"You're welcome, Trickster!"
"I don't wanna be here any longer…" Ace grabs the both of you by the wrist and drags you out of the Science club room. "Fyga! Wait up dazo!" Grim growls, scampering after you three.

PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4 | PART 5 [!] | PART 6 | END
"You scared me. I almost thought you were Rook…" Ruggie shudders, jumping a little. "Uh, who's Rook?" You question him.
"You haven't felt him yet? I think he's been watching you for most of the day. It's better for me if he targets somebody else anyway, shishi!" He gets up, dusting off his pants. "Oh, the weirdo in the…yeah, right! The letters! It was you, right?!" You accuse him.
He raises an eyebrow before a look of shock crosses his face. Ruggie bursts into another round of giggles. You glare at him, embarrassed. "It's not funny, dude! Just tell me." You huff.
"Hahaha! Ah-" You swear to the great sevens, Ruggie was clutching his stomach, wiping tears from his eyes. His reaction almost made you crack up as well. "You- You're so- Ahaha! I can't believe you…you think it's me!?" Ruggie sneers, his tail wagging slightly, "Just wait till he hears this!"
"He?!" You look at him incredulously. "So, you know who it is! Tell me!" You shake him roughly by the shoulders.
He pushes out of your grip rather easily, much to your disappointment. "Nope, can't do that. Unless you have more than he's paying, my lips are zipped." Ruggie grins. You glare at him, it totally seems like he's teasing you. Almost everybody at this school had heard that you lived in a ramshackle dorm, therefore it was only natural to assume you have zero cents to your name as well.
"Uh, what if I hurt you?" You wince upon hearing that come out of your mouth. You know how ridiculous you sound.
"Shishishi, what are you going to do? You're in a bad spot, y'know." He taunts you. "Hm. If I give you a hint, will you call off your red blue duo and your cat? We can call everything forgiven, right?" This Valentines day has been torturous. It's really not that much to ask in return for information. You're sure he probably has an ulterior motive.
"Um, I can try. They don't really listen to me, and Grim's not a cat!" You scowl, wary. "If you're so sure about that. You better try real hard! Shishishi, if I tell you, maybe he'll start treating me better." He giggles the last part to himself.
"Right! You've met him before. Pay attention to his face, he's exceptionally handsome and has green eyes." Ruggie tells you, you nod frantically along.
You only knew about two people with green eyes at NRC that you had talked to. That would be Cater and some random first year who had matching green hair. You really doubted it was Cater and you hadn't talked to that other guy enough to warrant gifts and love letters.
He also seemed to dislike you, for whatever reason.
"I gotta go before that Rook finds me. Cya, shishishi!" He picks a handful of dandelions and runs off before you can even get a word in. "T-Thank you?!" You shout after him. "You and him owe me one now!" Ruggie cheerfully waves with his free hand. Then, he's just gone.
In the distance, you see a red and blue blur approaching.
"[Name]...stop…running off everywhere!" Ace yells as he sharply inhales, "I don't understand this crazy track-head."
"Track-head, really? Track is a great sport to build endurance!" Deuce is a little out of breath but otherwise seems to be in better shape than Ace. "[Name]! You were so fast! Are you sure you don't want to join Track?" He turns to you excitedly.
"Henchman! My legs are all wobbly, I'm so tired dazo!" Grim promptly falls on your feet. You pick him up with a sigh, "I can't, I'm already in the taking-care-of-Grim club."
"Are you sure that isn't a full-time job?" Ace snorts. "Nope, that's why I'm handing him off to you guys after school. Grim-sitting is on you guys in the afternoon." You smile.
"Why can't I come with, henchman dazo?" Grim whines. "Because I'll be studying and doing boring things. It'll be more fun with ADeuce." You gently convince him. "ADeuce? You better not make that a thing." Ace huffs. "Ever since Cater called us that…I don't want to be associated with him." Deuce shudders.
"You think I want to be associated with you? Please, you're not very good at making jokes."
"These two…" You and Grim share a look. "Class is probably starting soon, we should get going." You hope to distract them from chasing down that beastman.
"Yeah, we'll avenge that lost deluxe menchi katsu sandwich dazo!" Grim exclaims. "Maybe you should focus on class more." A lying hypocrite you were. It was a miracle the two of you got the marks you did. Under your collaborative effort as a singular student, you both pass with decent grades.
"Considering you two barely keep up, it's crazy you two haven't failed yet." Ace snickers. "Don't worry! If we work hard enough, we'll become honor students!" Deuce smiles, a look of determination on his face. You can't deny him.
"I'll become the greatest magician dazo!"
"Oh yeah, by the way, I got a hint bout my uh…admirer." You tell them as you all walk back. "Was it that — what did Cater call him again? — guy then?" Deuce curiously asks. "No, I don't think so. Ruggie told me he's attractive with green eyes and that we've met before." You explain.
"Wow, that narrows it down by a lot."
"Shut it, Ace. It's not my fault almost all of the students here are attractive."
"Green eyes…You don't think it's Cater, is it?!" Deuce gasps. "No way! Since that Ruggie guy seemed familiar with him, I assumed the…admirer…would be a Savanaclaw member." You suggest. "What, so you wanna go around Savanaclaw, looking into people's eyes?" Ace questions, clearly doubtful.
You hadn't planned this far. "Uh…maybe?" You shrug. "And if it's some random Savanaclaw member, what'll you do about it, huh?" You hate to admit that Ace is making valid points.
"There's someone else who we could ask about this." You snap, a light bulb going off in your head, "Do you guys know a guy named Rook?"
Deuce's eyes widen in realization.
"Ah, I think I heard Trey talk about someone named that before!"
Your next lead would be the mystery stalker, Rook.

PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4 [!] | PART 5 | PART 6 | END
It's only after third period that you remember it's Valentines day once again. After everything had occurred, the letter and gift had totally slipped your mind. At your desk, you find a handful of dandelions with a note tied to it.
As an apology and because he forced me too, hehe.
Suddenly, it all makes sense. "That guy from earlier! He must've sent these to distract us and pre-planned to steal the sandwiches from us!" You blurt out. "What?" Deuce looks confused. "Yeah, what?" Ace raises an eyebrow.
"Henchman, I think you're being stupid dazo." Grim shrugs. "I'm not! Look, it totally makes sense! Everything goes wrong and then I get flowers and a card apologizing!" You explain quickly.
"Yeah, but there's no way that guy could've guessed we would get the sandwiches unless…" Deuce stops, lowering his voice to a whisper, "Unless he was eavesdropping."
"You think he's stalking us? That's how he knew where I sat and everything!" You excitedly whisper. It was the exhilaration of figuring something out. "But why target you specifically? I mean, you really don't have a lot going for you." Ace stares you up and down. You roll your eyes. "That's exactly it. I'm the magicless one here. I can't do anything to retaliate." You grumble, you've long come to terms with your position here.
You weren't going to lay down and just take it though. A chill goes up your spine.
You whip your head toward the classroom window. There's nobody…nothing there. "Fygaa! Di-Did'ya see something there dazo!?" Grim yelps upon seeing you suddenly turn. Deuce cautiously approaches the window and looks out.
"Um, there's nobody out here…"
Ace peeks his head out, "Hey, if there's somebody there, you better not be stalking the prefect! They're really dull and boring and it's not gonna be fun for you!"
"Hey!"
You go back to pick up the dandelions. What a strange choice of flowers. They didn't particularly strike you as romantic flowers but you guess there was that myth of blowing on dandelions to make wishes.
"Ah, wait…" Your eyes widen as you spot another letter nestled within the dandelions. "Oh, what is it?" Deuce looks over your shoulder. "Another threat dazo!" Grim exclaims.
As you unfold it, you realize it's way longer than the first one that had simply two words.
Good day, You're so annoying.
"What a great starter." Ace snorts. "Shut up, I'm trying to read." Deuce hushes him with a glare as he urges you to continue.
"Wait, you can read?"
"What's that supposed to mean!?"
You ignore them as all three of them get into an argument behind you. Your eyes are locked onto the words.
Traditions suggest that I'm supposed to be sending romantic gestures on February the 14th. If you knew who I was, I doubt you'd want to reciprocate anything. I don't care if you reciprocate or don't.
I know I'll never be the one you love most, and that's fine. It'd be ridiculous of me to assume that. Spending time with you is enough for me to deal with. I really dislike you for making me put in this much effort right now. I don't like the way you speak and laugh, it makes me feel irritated.
I get this feeling in my chest and I'm really hoping it's heart arrhythmia or a heart attack. It's only whenever I'm around you, you really are too dangerous to be around.
You let out a little laugh at this. You've gained your first substantial clue. You must've talked to them before. Maybe that's why you had a sense that you had met that beastman before.
Besides that, you should actually be careful. That weirdo probably caught wind of this and is probably watching you.
Now this makes you concerned. You had been feeling watched the whole time but every time you checked, there was nothing.
Seriously, why was this Valentines shaping up to be a horror instead of something romantic?
I'm not apologizing for putting you on his radar. You probably already had his interest since you're so bizarre. It's your fault for catching my attention, of all people, anyway.
You scoff. You didn't ask to get stalked. Why were guys at Night Raven College like this?
Yours Truly,
That's where it ends. No signature, no name. Nothing to really identify who had sent this.
That beastman from earlier didn't seem like a person who would write like this, but you couldn't tell from one (possibly two) encounters.
Maybe you should just catch that beastman and ask him yourself. Yes, that's it!
"Let's catch that food thief." You declare. They all turn to you.
"What?"
"Nyahaha! Let's make him pay dazo!"
"Uh, but how do we do that…?" Deuce rightfully asks. You blink. "Uh, we can start by asking around." You suggest. "Honestly, this sounds like such a stupid idea." Ace scoffs.
"But I'm in." He smirks.
-
Cater was scrolling through his phone, on his way to his next class, when you and Grim jumped in front of him.
"Cater!"
"Whoa!" He laughs, seemingly out of shock.
Behind him, Ace and Deuce spring out. Cater turns around with a smile on his face.
"It's nice to see you guys again. How has your Valentines day been?" Cater waves casually. "This is fine. Everything's fine." You send him a shaky thumbs-up. "Uhh, what's up? You okay? You having love troubles or something, hm?" He teasingly asks.
"Yeah…" You mutter, you're not focused on the current conversation.
"But that's not the big issue! Some furry stole our food dazo!"
Cater chokes. "D-Don't say that, Gri! You're totally going to get cancelled for that…the term is beastmen." He quickly splutters, looking around sheepishly. "Yeah, yeah." Ace rolls his eyes.
"Uh, Cater, we actually came to ask you for your help since you know a lot of people." Deuce speaks up, reminding you all the reason you had surrounded him in the first place. "Oh? My little underclassmen are coming to me for help! Don't worry, you can rely on your super dependable Cay!" He practically squeals.
"Agh, now you've made it weird. We should go ask Trey, c'mon." Ace groans, looking embarrassed. "No way! Come on, just ask me. I can help out!" Cater insists with a pout. You wonder if this is a ploy by Ace to get Cater to agree to helping because it seems like it's working.
"Henchman? Yoohoo. Are ya there dazo?" Grim must've hopped onto your shoulders while you were distracted. "Is that the guy you're looking for?" Cater asks curiously. He was behind you, trying to follow your line of sight.
Outside, there's a field. Crouched among them is a familiar head of dark blonde hair and a large pair of fluffy animal ears. "Hm, he looks like second year Ruggie Bucchi from 2-B. From his animal features, you probably already guessed he's in Savanaclaw and you'd be right! I think he's actually a hyena beastman." Cater cheerfully gives you a short description of him.
You run outside. "Fygaa! Henchman, where are you going dazo?!" Grim tumbles off your shoulder, you already know he'll land on his feet. Their shouts grow further as you exit the building.
Their voices grow further as you exit the building. You gasp.
You run into the field and you gasp. You weren't hallucinating. That was definitely a cute tail! Oh yeah, and that food thief.
You weren't hallucinating. That was definitely a cute tail! Oh yeah, and that food thief.

PART 1 | PART 2 [!] | PART 3 | PART 4 | PART 5 | PART 6 | END
SUMMARY: You think about the identity of your possible...admirer. Or is this all a cruel prank? You best keep your guard up at NRC after all!
"Food dazo!" Grim cheerfully leapt forward. He hops onto your desk, tail swaying as he picks up a pouch.
"Uh…" You could only mumble. You weren't quite sure what to do with this information. Was somebody threatening you by sending you these ominous letters or…? Nope, it was a good idea to just shut down that idea completely. Falling for any of the pretty boys here was going to be a bad idea. One that you'd regret so badly.
You really couldn't help yourself though.
"Open it, open it!" Ace urges him excitedly. Grim pulls open the pouch. "Hearts…?" Deuce looks from above, confused. "Haha, somebody's got a secret crush on you!" The red head begins laughing even harder.
"Candy! Don't mind if I do dazo!" Grim pops one in his mouth. "What if it was poisoned, Grim? You can't just put random stuff in your mouth!" You scold him, taking the pouch from him. "Fygaa! You think it's poisoned?! Ack-" Grim's eyes widened in disgust as he tries to cough it out. You try to help to no avail and he simply swallows it.
"Tastes pretty good dazo!"
"Candy hearts for the prefect? I think someone has a little crush on them!" Ace teasingly comments. "Shut up, do we really need everyone to know?" You huff, a blush slightly creeps up your face. It's embarrassing! What did the gifter think they were doing?
You look around the class to stare down any eavesdroppers. As soon as they realized you were looking at them, they quickly looked away. Huh. Usually, they'd snicker in response. They didn't have the decency to even pretend they weren't listening because they knew. What could you even do against them?
Either they finally realized your might or it was the person behind the letter and candy. You don't know if the thought relieved you or just made you more wary of the gifter.
"Hey, you. Did you see who put this here?" You decide to ask a classmate. He's a Savanaclaw member and it's obvious even without the arm band.
He looks like a deer caught in the light for a while before his expression snaps into a glare. "No, I don't have to say anything!" He growls at you. You blink and just turn around.
Your other classmates look jittery and nervous as they try to look anywhere but you.
"Is it just me or is the class acting strange?" Deuce whispers. "I bet they know something about this but we're threatened to keep hush. Ooh, what if your admirer is someone powerful?" Ace theorizes with a grin. "As long as they give me food, they can have [Name] dazo." Grim nodded.
"Grim! I can't believe you'd sell me out like that! If someone gave me stable living conditions and some love, I'd leave you too!" You gasp, pretending to be offended.
You are sweating bullets. You hope Ace isn't right. He's usually not right anyway, right? You reassure yourself.
"Puppies, settle down! Class is starting." With professor Crewel's entrance, everyone quickly takes a seat and the room falls silent. During his lesson, you play with the strings of the pouch in your pocket.
You try to imagine who this admirer could be. Was it somebody you knew? If it wasn't, was this some cruel prank? And if it isn't a prank…there's a certain charm to a random stranger falling in love with you.
Would he be as bold as Ace? As compassionate as Deuce? As cheerful as Cater? Maybe perhaps as strict as Riddle or even as caring as Trey?
You just hoped this admirer didn't have the worst traits of them all. Knowing your luck, they really might. You racked your head, trying to think of more possibilities as to who this could be. You didn't really think it was in line with what you knew them to be to do this.
By the time you start focusing on the lesson again, it's already over. You blink and shake your head. Oh no, you hope you didn't miss anything important. You'd just ask Ace or Deuce later.
You head to your next period after that. It isn't until lunch that you finally get the chance to read that card. It's simplistic but you get the feeling it's quite expensive. You're so confused.
You pass Grim the pouch of candy hearts after you check if it's poisoned or cursed. He munches on them while you all walk to the cafeteria. The halls are weirdly devoid of students, only a few students still loitering around. It made sense since it was lunch time but there tended to be more people outside.
"Ugh, I'm going to get mugged or something while walking home today." You groan. "Don't worry, the Great Grim will protect his henchman dazo!" Grim proclaims proudly with a grin. You smile. "Do you need me to walk you home, [Name]?" Deuce asks, cracking his knuckles with a dark look. "You triggered his bad boy switch." Ace accuses you with a frown.
"Knock it off, you jerk-"
"It's okay, I'll be studying in the library after school anyway. You guys can watch Grim for me, right?"
"Oh, su-" Ace claps a hand over his mouth, leaning forward. Upon seeing his eager face, you sigh and roll your eyes.
"What do you want?"
"So, I heard today there's this super popular bakery in town that comes to promote themselves once every month." Somehow you already have a bad feeling of where this was going.
"Ah, I remember Cater mentioning that! They sell our real quick, right? I saw the picture of the egg salad sandwich he posted." Deuce adds excitedly, pulling Ace's hand away from him.
"So?"
"Get us the deluxe menchi katsu sandwich!"

PART 1 [!] | PART 2 | PART 3 | PART 4 | PART 5 | PART 6 | END
SUMMARY: You receive unsigned letters on Valentines Day. They might be love letters but at Night Raven College, you can never tell. A.K.A Leona Kingscholar is bad at love letters.
You open the door, the whole building shakes a little. You're unfazed to the shakiness of Ramshackle at this point.
You were about to take a step forward when you noticed a letter on your doorstep. You pick it up curiously and you're about to open it when…you shove it in your pocket.
"Grim, hurry up! Let's go!" You shout, beginning to briskly walk to the gates. No way, this was NRC. You wouldn't open this in front of Ramshackle. Knowing the guys here, it could totally be a prank and having Ramshackle be blown up would be inconvenient.
"Fygaa, got it, got it! Stop rushing me dazo!" Grim grumbles, bounding after you. He walks besides your heels as he scratches at the choker.
You can't help but feel a little dread in your stomach as you approach the main street. After all, it's February 14th.
Valentines day.
Upon showing up in Twisted Wonderland and meeting some of the guys at NRC, you knew you were doomed to be alone on this day from the very start. As attractive as some of the guys were, they were also absolute brats and no way would they ever be interested in you.
Perfect was just a title. You are just some magicless human.
Considering NRC was an all-boys school, it wouldn't be strange to maybe see a few gay couples. But if you factor in the environment… You doubt anyone here would partake in what they'd consider to be 'mushy behavior'.
You take a deep breath and enter the main street. You blink. Everything is decorated with hearts and pink. It looks like Heartslabyul vomited everywhere.
"It's really tacky, isn't it, [Name]?" An arm is suddenly on your shoulders as a weight leans down on you. "Did Heartslabyul decorate?" You asked Ace curiously.
"Yeah, we spent all morning and yesterday decorating. Cater probably posted all those pictures already on his magicam…" Deuce sighed. "Did Ace give you any chocolates?" You suddenly ask.
"What?" He looks confused while Ace is frantically shaking his head. "No way! Why would I ever give this idiot chocolates?! I-I don't like him like that!" He screeches, face red. "Oho! So you admit you like him? Are you finally accepting the fact that you're perhaps…good pals?!" You snicker loudly upon catching him.
"Nyahaha! Your face is so red dazo!" Grim joins in, laughing at the duo. "Ugh, shut up, you stupid cat! You can't even eat chocolate!" Ace scowls.
"Oi, who're you calling a cat dazo?!"
"Oh, speaking of chocolates!" Deuce snaps, the topic having easily flown past him. "Trey wanted us to give this to you for him." He went through his blazer pocket, taking out a little box.
You take it from him and shake it curiously. It sounds like their are tiny items inside. Sweets from the baker no doubt. "Nice, thank him for me if you see him." You smile, pocketing the gift along with the letter.
"Ooh! Food! Was that food dazo?! I want it!" Grim perks up at the smell. "It's for later. Maybe if you behave, I'll give you one." You hope it isn't chocolate for Grim's sake.
"Oh, henchman! What was that letter earlier by the way dazo?" You deadpanned. Grim had seen it earlier? You brace yourself with a sigh.
"Aha! What is this?! The perfect got a love letter, hm?" Ace smirks. "Whoa, so does that mean a student on campus likes you?" Deuce gasps.
"I guess I can open it now. I really doubt anyone does." You shrug. If it blows up in your face, you're blaming Ace for it. They hold their breaths in anticipation as you open the letter.
It simply says in neat handwriting,
Be prepared.
You gulp. You wait. It does not blow up. "That's…Is that a threat?" Deuce frowns. "Fygaa?! What d'they think they're doing threatening my henchman dazo?!" Grim growls.
"Bahaha! No guy would ever write a love letter to you!" Ace bursts into laughter.
"No one even sent any chocolates to you, Ace!"
"No, Trey actually made us chocolates too!"
You argue the rest of the way until you make it to class. You freeze upon entering the classroom. There, right there.
On your desk is another card. Ace bursts into more laughter while Deuce looks mildly concerned.
"Is somebody following you…?"

my first fic how nostalgic T-T
full fic underneath :)
Hi guys this ff was meant to be more cheerful but Aoko is a little OOC. I do promise a happy ending tho!
~ ♡ ~
Kaito was no way or form in love with his best friend. Not at all. He didn't love her cute face or messy hair. He didn't love the way she speaks or the clumsy way she walks. And he definitely didn't love her eyes, not the way they sparkled - true to her name the child of blue. Aoko Nakamori. She definitely didn't keep him up at night. Kaito knew Aoko wasn't the prettiest or most elegant girl but to him she was perfect, but his situation prevented him from telling her. Telling her she was the only one for him.
Aoko definitely loved her best friend and it scared her. He was Kaito, her silly childhood friend. The one who always looked up her skirt or was pulling mean pranks on her. However, he was always there, when she was scared or upset. Ready to hug her or to cheer her up. She liked how his arms wrapped around her and his calm voice, she really liked that part of him.
Despite her knowing him most her life, it still scares her, he's definitely hiding something - something big. whatever it is she knows she'll be hurt. That's why when she got the letter, both of them were surprised - Aoko was friendly and cute but she had never received a love letter. Reading it, Kaito felt his heart twist and he didn't like this new feeling.
_Dear Aoko Nakamori,
I think about you all the time - I don't think you hear it often enough, but you're beautiful. I have wanted to tell you this for a really long time, unfortunately I never got the chance, so I am writing to you instead.
I like you. I don't expect you to reply immediately, let's say today 22:30 on the school rooftop. I look forward to seeing you.
Your Secret Admirer.
P.S. I hope you like the gift._
It was simple enough, it was clear whoever wrote this didn't spend too much time on it but the thought was there. The paper itself was of high quality and a pretty baby blue and the gift referred to in the letter was a pair of clip on earrings - the same crystal clear blue of her eyes. The same eyes he loved staring at.
'Aoko,' he began, trying to swallow his jealousy, 'you don't plan on going do you?'
Her reply wasn't what he expected, the usually happy and lively girl he knew just looked fed up. 'Why shouldn't I?' It was barely a whisper but it scared him, Aoko was never this quiet. Something was bothering her. 'At least that way I won't be alone, plus it's not like I had anything to do anyway.'
'Alone? Aoko what do you mean?' Kaito knew that even if she was sad, she usually made an effort to sound cheerful, but she wasn't. 'Kid's heist is today, that bastard that's stealing my dad away from me, strikes again.'
'Bastard? Aoko what do you mean alone,' this was very bad, Aoko hated being alone, but she hasn't brought up the topic in a while, 'you have me, don't you?'
'Do I Kaito? Do I really? Recently you've been so distant.' She looked like she was trying hard to hold back her tears. He hated seeing her like this, but he couldn't do anything. He was that bastard, the one whose stealing her father, the reason he's been distant.
'Aoko-san?' This voice - ugh. Hakuba. Kaito turned to face the boy walking towards them, his face suggested he was worried about Aoko's demeanour, her usual smiling face covered by her hair and eyes glassed over with tears.
'Nakamori-san? What are you holding?' Akako wasn't really one to talk to Aoko without insulting her in some way, but even she sounded concerned.
'Aoko-san, if you're not feeling well you should go back home and rest.'
'That's right Nakamori-san, you should get some rest.'
Aoko mumbled something along the lines of 'okay, I might as well,' but it was hard to tell. As she walked towards the door she bumped into Keiko - one of her good friends, they talked for a little bit before Aoko walked out of the classroom and made her way out of the school.
'Shouldn't you be doing something Kuroba-kun, she is your best friend?'
'I don't think she wants to talk to me,' he began, feeling the eyes of his class land on him as Aoko left.
'Don't be ridiculous Kaito-kun, of course she wants to talk to you.'
'Keiko?'
'She's clearly upset about something and the least you could do as her best friend is try and talk to her.' He sighed, Aoko was upset about something he was a part of, he couldn't postpone today's heist without confirming Hakuba's suspicions and probably Aoko's too. The best he could do was to talk to her after school.
Today was definitely going to be busy.
The day was painfully long, Kaito couldn't listen to his teachers anymore and lunchtime was even worse. A number of students had assumed that Aoko had left that morning because of a fight they had. A number of girls from their year asked whether she had been rejected by him, to which he could only blush and deny that anything romantic had happened between them.
However the worst part of all was his own classmates asking if the love letter had been from him - idiots, he'd have done something way better than this, something way more extravagant.
He couldn't wait for this day to be over and when it did he was glad he didn't have cleaning duty. He got back home as fast as he could, ignoring his mum's questions and running to his room. He quickly changed into something more casual before, once again, running out of the room and towards the exit. His mum had other plans though. She caught him by the hood of his jacket and made him explain what happened.
'I see, Aoko-chan is upset with you in more ways than one,' she chuckled, clearly thinking about the irony that he so happens to be Kid. 'You should kiss her.'
'Kiss!?' he sputtered, his mum was known for her carefree attitude and weird personality, but that was crossing a line. 'WHAT- what do you mean kiss?'
'Ha - you thought I wouldn't notice your little crush on little Aoko-chan, you should tell her and probably kiss her too. After all when your dad kissed me I couldn't help but fall head-over-heels for him...'
Kaito had quickly sneaked away whilst his mum was stuck reminiscing about the past, kiss Aoko - ridiculous he definitely didn't like her, at least not in that way. He sighed before crossing the road to get to Aoko's place, he had been delayed too much.
Taking a deep breath, he knocked on her front door hoping she would answer and preferably not kill him. Aoko took a while to answer the door so he waited before knocking again. She was really taking her sweet time getting to the door, but before he could knock a third time she opened the door. She had clearly been crying and had probably cried herself to sleep at one point - her eyes were very puffy, her clothes, and hair was messy as if she'd been lying down.
'Kaito?' Her voice was quiet, he fought the urge to call her cute, her cute clothes and messy hair were making it really hard. However, it would probably make her more annoyed.
'Aoko can I come in?' She nodded silently and motioned him to come in.
'Why are you here Kaito? Don't you have anything to be doing right now?'
'I do, but you're more important than that,' he shot her one of his signature smirks, but she rolled her eyes and chuckled. Good - he thought - she's smiling again.
'But really why are you here?' She sunk back into the sofa and he followed.
'You weren't yourself this morning, and I guess I was worried about you,' he inched a little closer to her and nearly jumped when she turned to face him. Her face was suddenly very close to his. He was used to teasing her from a slight distance, however being this physically close made his stomach flip. He also made the mistake of glancing at her lips and his mum's words came back to him. If he leaned further in their lips would meet and they'd be kissing. Kissing Aoko, Aoko his best friend, Aoko the girl he was currently very close to. He could feel his face heat up and was slightly thankful when she buried herself in his arms so she couldn't see his face that was becoming redder.
'Um Aoko? Is everything okay?' He carefully wrapped his arms around her and tried to calm his heart down.
'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude to you this morning, I was just annoyed and took it out on you,' when she looked up, her pouting face made his heart beat way too fast. Her lips were also very close, he shook his head and pushed her away slightly. Cursing those thoughts for coming back.
'It's quite hot in here, right?' He fanned himself with his hands. Aoko looked at him with a confused face.
'I did turn up the heating because it was cold, but you're probably feeling hot because you're wearing that massive jacket of yours.' He chuckled nervously at her statement and tried to shrug off his jacket. He placed his jacket in the edge of the sofa and looked back to her, she was slightly further away from him, which was a good thing, but he suddenly missed the feeling of having her in his arms.
'So, um, you know,' he began, anxiously turning to face her.
'Yes?'
'About that..'
'About what?'
'That letter, you know the one you got this morning? Are you going to go?'
'Oh that I nearly forgot,' she got up and walked towards the chest of drawers, picking up the letter and shaking out the earrings put inside. She clipped them on as she walked towards him.
'What do you think? Aren't they pretty? I'm going to wear them when I meet whoever wrote that letter.'
'So you're really going huh?'
'Ooh are you jealous Kaito?'
'NO! Why would I be? Hah! Jealous - preposterous!' He was really sputtering now. Aoko on the other hand was laughing at the odd face he was making.
'You should see how you look right now. I'm just going to thank whoever it is, but I have someone else I like.' She giggled at his clear relief, only to be confused yet again.
'You do!? Who?'
She chuckled, 'I'm not telling you,' and walked away, leaving a very puzzled Kaito behind.
'Hey! Wait! At least tell me how you're going to get there and back!'
Aoko stopped walking away and looked at him, 'you know I haven't really thought about that.'
'Really,' he wasn't surprised, she was usually this scatterbrained.
'I can't drop you there, but I can pick you up,' he started, but quickly added that he had to do something for Jii-chan when she glared at him. 'You should bring your helmet with you, I'm taking my bike to the parlour.'
'Sure, don't be late okay?'
''Kay.' He smiled at her before leaving, it had gotten surprisingly late.
He smiled as he got onto his bike, all he had to do was complete this heist and meet her at school.
Easy.
10 minutes. Kaito was listening carefully to the bugs placed at the heist location. His target tonight was a sapphire, it was being bought over for an exhibition. Sadly, this was the only big jewel on display.
'Inspector Nakamori, the emergency lights have been prepped and the generator is hidden at the back of the room.'
'Good, we'll be ready for that pesky thief now.'
He breathed out, 'so that's how you want to play it.' He placed the mask of the officer on and placed another mask on top. One could never be too careful. He turned on his walkie-talkie and in Inspector Nakamori's voice told the officers he had spotted Kid in the exhibition room and for everyone to gather there. Now the officers not in the exhibition room would rush there, allowing him to slip in.
He made his way there, ready to start the next phase of his plan.
As soon as he was there, the room was already in panic allowing him to go to the back of the room. After confirming that the generator was turned off, he tripped the switches. The room was plunged into darkness.
'TURN ON THE GENERATOR, QUICKLY!'
'But, sir...'
'NOW!'
'Sir, the generator, it's broken!'
'WHAT! SOMEONE TURN ON A LIGHT!'
'Sir! The sapphire!'
'WHAT!'
Kaito let the lights turn on, after all, what's a heist without showing off?
'Inspector Nakamori, as you can see I now have the jewel.'
'KID!'
'You really made it too easy, Inspector, that wasn't even a challenge.'
'KID HOW DARE YOU!'
'Oh calm down inspector, there's no need to shout.'
He pulled his hat further down and threw a smoke bomb, allowing him to escape on his hang glider. It was odd that the heist was too easy, there was a tracker on the fake jewel. The real one was inside the generator. He had slid the jewel into the pocket of the exhibition owner. Who was also 'sleeping' in the toilet (he disguised the officer he put to sleep as the owner). That way, they will be tricked into thinking that the Kaito Kid flying away is just a dummy (with the help of a fake propeller and some balloons). He laughed, no-one can trick someone who lies professionally.
Now to Ekoda High School.
Aoko shivered slightly as she stood on the roof of the school. It had been slightly hard work to sneak in, but that didn't really matter. This feeling was definitely liberating. The cold night air and slight wind didn't deter her. She had chosen to wear a white dress with dark blue details, to match the earrings she had been given.
She stared up at the sky, the city lights dimmed the stars but the moon was beautiful. She glanced around the night sky, hoping to catch a glimpse of Kid, she wasn't sure why she was looking for him. Maybe she just wanted to know whether he'd been caught or not. Sighing, she turned around only to be surprised by a new presence on the rooftop.
'Kid.' The Phantom Thief was standing a few feet away from her. She could see his smug smile from underneath the hat.
'Nakamori-san,' he pulled out the jewel from today's heist, 'just the person I was looking for.'
'What are you doing here?' Her happy mood has disappeared. He held the sapphire to the moonlight.
'This isn't what I'm looking for, so I'll give it to you.'
She blinked in confusion, 'me?'
'I don't doubt you Nakamori-san,' he began walking toward the end of the roof.
'Why return them? The jewels I mean?' She chuckled at his confusion as he turned around, 'you worked so hard to steal them, why not keep them?'
'It's quite simple actually,' he pulled out his hang glider, 'I don't keep what's not mine, after all I have a better sapphire.'
He stepped off the edge of the roof, flying away.
Or at least that's what it looked like. This time it really was a dummy flying away, the real Kaito had put on his black cloak and was now dangling from the side of the school. He carefully made his way down the side and changed his clothes. Now all he had to do was to appear in front of Aoko, as if nothing had happened.
He made his way to the roof.
'Aoko.' He couldn't stop the blood rushing to his face when he saw her. The faint glow of the moon made her dress light up in a way that made her look angel-like. The wind blowing through her hair only served to make her look like she came out of a fairy tale. He shook his head, now was not the time to be fawning over her.
'Kaito,' her face lit up and she waved at him.
'Aoko did you meet whoever sent the letter.'
'Oh that, no I didn't,' she shrugged and turned to look at the city skyline. 'They must've forgotten, but guess who I did meet?'
'Um, who?' He smiled at her obvious excitement.
'I'm not telling.'
'Hey.' She giggled and looked at him, pulling him into a hug. After some hesitation, he pulled her closer. He felt his heart pounding, why was he feeling this? This entire day Aoko had made him feel a real variety of emotions.
'I'm glad you came Kaito.'
'Aoko, I,' he gently pushed her away from him, so he could see her face. 'Aoko I have something to tell you.' He gulped hard, what was he trying to do, what was he going to tell her? He could always confess. Confess what? His secret life? His love for her?
Love. That was it. This whole day had really proved it.
'Kaito,' she tiptoed up to feel his forehead, 'are you okay? You're face is really red.'
'I-,' this was really bad, she was really close to him. Her lips were way too close. 'Aoko- I.'
She pushed a strand of his hair away from his face, he had to do this, 'oh spit it out.'
'I think, I want to kiss you,' he cursed at himself inwardly. He had to ask now or he wouldn't ever. The thought had been plaguing him for hours.
She looked at him with wide eyes, 'kiss?' He glanced at her lips, dammit she was definitely wearing lip gloss. He moved his hands from her shoulders down towards her waist and pulled her closer.
'When you got that letter, I was jealous. When you said you'd meet him, I was jealous. And when you were upset, I was worried. You- You've always been important to me, I guess I didn't realise it was like this. And you look so pretty right now. You've been on my mind all day and, and I-'
She had effectively silenced him. With her own lips. The kiss had only lasted mere seconds, but it was enough to shock him. He already missed the feeling of her lips on his, so he pulled her closer.
Her lips were warm as he kissed her. She tiptoed further to tangled her fingers in his hair, so he steadied her with his arms. He had thought about kissing Aoko, before, but this was new. This feeling was unbeatable.
He felt one of her hands gently stroke his face, her body rocking against his. He had stopped being able to function properly, thoughts of her consuming his mind entirely. They way she felt in his arms. The way her body fit perfectly against his. The way her lips were so soft. He felt her hands travel down to his chest and crumple his shirt.
He gently pulled away, starting to feel slightly light headed, but he kept her close.
'I love you.'
'Bakaito,' her voice was quiet. He smiled as he pressed a quick kiss to her lips.
'Ahouko.'
'Do you plan on kissing me again?' She gently tugged him down.
He chuckled before capturing her lips in another kiss.
- fin -
Who exactly sent the letter?
'Hakuba-kun! You said this plan would work!'
'Now Akako-san, considering Kuroba-kun, there was a chance it wouldn't.'
'Well now he has the girl and the jewel!'
'Truly unfortunate,' but he could't help but smile, they were made for each other.
Hakuba and Akako had worked together to reveal his secret and capture him (Aoko was an unfortunate addition to the plan). However, they really were unsuccessful.
~ ♡ ~
What happened to the jewel?
'Ah Kaito stop here.'
'In front of the police station, why? Did your dad forget something?'
'Ah not really,' she stopped to think a little, but she added, 'its a secret!'
Kaito could only really think one thing - God was she cute. He smiled as she walked into the, that girl was his girlfriend!
However as he was lost in thought about the idea of telling her his secret identity she came back.
'Let's go!'
'Do you want me to drop you off at your place?'
'Aren't you coming as well?'
He had to admit, when she said that he did get the wrong idea at first, but the Aoko he knew was not that bold. So he confirmed, 'for what?'
'Dinner! Obviously, I bet you didn't eat doing whatever you did with Jii-san!'
Kaito had to admit he was very hungry and he would never turn down a free meal. Especially one made by his girlfriend, it felt nice calling her that.
'It better be good!'

What about her dad?
'I wonder what she was doing out so late with Kaito-kun.'
'Nakamori-keibu, the report on tonight.'
'Ah detective, you're dismissed, go home.'
'What about you inspector, wasn't that your daughter?' He stood up and walked to the window in his office. He could see Kaito and Aoko drive off towards their house.
'Nah, I'll give them sometime.'

stop haunting me in the night, putting your hand on my shoulder, quietly telling me to wait for you silently in the dark, when i know in myself already that you won’t come back

can we all agree that pressing foreheads together is an underrated act of affection??
Kahlil Gibran, from Grape Leaves: A Century of Arab-American Poetry; “Mary Magdalene”
Kissing you didn't feel like fireworks or explosions or like the sun was burning in my soul. But it did feel calm, and safe, and right. The world was spinning around me and it suddenly fell into place. And I think that's so much better.
Museum date???? Coffee shop date???? Art gallery date???? Walk in the park date???? Late night walk date???? Nap time date???

I have so much love and respect for women who are honest about their own loneliness but also find the good in it like when audrey hepburn said “I have to be alone very often. I’d be quite happy if I spent from Saturday night until Monday morning alone in my apartment. That’s how I refuel” and when charlotte bronte said “I care for myself. The more solitary, the more friendless, the more unsustained I am, the more I will respect myself” and when jenny slate said “I think I’ve come to terms with the fact that there will always be a ribbon of loneliness running through who I am. But that’s why I want to do comedy, and why I want to connect with people. You can use that ribbon to be a part of a finer tapestry, or you can choke yourself out with it! Your choice!” and when mary oliver said “whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh & exciting - over & over announcing your place in the family of things”
You can’t deserve a person’s love. You’ll drive yourself crazy thinking like that. They either love you, or they don’t. That doesn’t mean you weren’t good enough for them to love you, because love isn’t something you earn by being good enough. It isn’t something that can be quantified or doled out. Don’t blame yourself for not being loved how you need to, just teach yourself how to look for love where love lives.
love is insane you feel like you're always subtly asking "do you still love me even though i'm flawed" and the answer just keeps being yes
