The hypnagogic state is a state where we naturally go into before sleeping, a sweet spot moment before sleeping and still being awake, a state where it is so powerful to be able to shift, get in the void, or basically do anything.

Now it requires NOTHING, it only requires one small thing that might sound tricky.

Staying awake long enough for it to come by on it's own, and actually on average it takes 10-5 mins from each person to enter it aware.

The steps:

Lay flat on your back (not needed, but many results come from laying on the back)

Do. Not. Care, just go with what you usually do to fall asleep, but one thing? You're not falling asleep, you're watching your body fall asleep, that sweet spot where your body is about to fall asleep? That's hypnagogia

Actually don't move, it may give your mind signs you're still not sleeping, now just lay there and try not to sleep while focusing on the blackness behind your eyelids.

You will start seeing flashing images or swirly things or even just flashing lights and imagery, this is the hypnagogia and you managed to reach it in just 10 mins of pretending to be asleep (acc it takes me 4)

Bam, that's the sweet spot, now affirm slowly for the void, or just sense your surroundings for shifting or maybe you can try your shifting method here! This state cannot argue back, you'll be immediately shifting in no time, and slipping in the void is so easy from it.

So really the whole steps is just "lay down, don't move, watch your eyelids, color seen? Hypnagogia reached, method or void procedure done, bam."

I managed to find a post on Reddit on how to keep your body awake, you can try 2 or 3 of them to keep yourself entertained, FULL CREDITS TO THE ONE WHO POSTED IT ON REDDIT (calaie_iscoolio):

"1. Looking in the darkness behind your eyelids

Basically what it says, when you close your eyes, just focus on the darkness until hypnagogic imagery begins to happen i.e. colors, shapes, literally anything that will show. When images begin to show up, do not interact or acknowledge what you are seeing, you can look at it, but don't try to control it and just let the images flow until you feel that the state is induced enough to where it won't disappear because you are "too" awake/aware.

2. "Forearm Up" Method

Another technique that basically helps with people who tend to fall asleep to quickly, basically lay down on your back like usual, lift your hand up in the air where your elbow is resting on your mattress, keep it there and as it slowly falls down that's where you'll begin to fall asleep, it'll drop and basically awake you back up.

I had also seen a shifter mention that they prefer to lay on their stomach and lifting their foot up in the air and basically do the same thing. This technique basically just wakes you back up.

3. Thomas Edison Method

Very similar to the "Forearm Up" Method, basically what Edison had done was he had held a steel ball in his hand, and when he began to fall asleep, the ball will drop and alert Edison awake, another technique to help with people to struggle to stay awake.

4. Imagine Constant Motion

Basically imagining something whether that be an animal or an object constantly moving like a horse galloping, a dogs tail wagging side to side, etc. (Pretty simple, for people who find it much easier to visualize).

5. Tire your body through out the day

During the day, you could do any tasks that would just tire your body out that leads up to your attempt to induce the state, it'll make it much easier for you to get into the state and induce it since your body is already tired enough to relax.

6. Repeating "hypnagogia"

This will mean you have you just repeat the words "hypnagogia" to yourself till you get tired enough and then hypnagogic imagery will eventually appear.

7. Counting

Basically just like regular shifting methods, you could focus on counting up to how much you want to until you begin to get the hypnagogic hallucinations, to keep yourself from falling asleep you could give yourself simple math questions just so it's enough to focus to answer it.

8. Imagining Randomness

Imagine literally anything that isn't related at all, i.e. horse, roof, apple, pen, desk, etc. Visualize and filter through random objects or animals that have no correlation and that will induce the hypnagogic imagery, randomness is key.

9. Focus on breathing

Similar to any shifting method, basically focusing on your breaths is another technique to induce the state. Literally just anything to keep your awareness occupied rather than letting your mind just shut down to go to sleep.

10. Sounds

Listening to anything in your environment, whether that be things happening outside, if it's raining listen to the rain, or if you've got headphones on listen to the music and focus that, keep your focus on the music so you don't fall asleep.

11. "Playing" a song in your head

Not necessarily listening to the song, but imagining the song playing in your head, whether that be your favorite song, if you know how it sounds like, imagine it playing and once you've entered the state, it will naturally play and you'll end up actually hearing the song.

12. Heartbeat

Basically just focus on your heartbeat. Listen to the amount of beats.

These are all the various of techniques you could use, you don't have to stick to one and can basicaally try them out, see which one you feel like works for you and go from there. A tip is also you could pick like 4 or 5 out of these 12 and just filter through the techniques if you can't just stick to one since you get uninterested quickly. (I get bored easily, do I normally do 8, 9, 7 and 4 just so I don't lose interest.)"

Today my group got to get into some meditation vehicle and the host said soso much that resonated w me bc all the words they said I had already heard in some shape or form through shiftblr + loablr/manifesting... like this is a legitimate thing y'all, all they did was reaffirm and confirm all we keep learning and hearing.

I love that the host said that we are most definitely not the body, too...

Don't skip important hygiene; brushing teeth, washing hair, skipping skincare, showering.

Completely relax and just think without any distractions; music, subliminals, etc.

Set a new yet small goal you want to work towards to.

Remind yourself of your journey and how far you've come.

Work on your posture.

Cuddle with your animal.

Take a nap.

Buy a new candle.

Romanticise your life and every small thing about it.

Drink some lemon/cucumber water.

Find a new intresting show.

Create a new playlist with your favourite songs.

Find a new comfort YouTuber.

Think about your fun childhood memories.

Try a new form of exercise.

Make a vision board.

Get a therapist, and if you can't: talk with strangers online.

Listen to yout favourite subliminals.

Create a moodboard.

Create a new peace of jewerly.

Give away the clothes you dont wear anymore.

Create a visionboard and look at it everyday while affirming.

Try a new makeup style.

Go out without doing your makeup.

Get used to your 'effortless' look; no makeup, lay clothes, tied hair.

Get used to failing and learn from your mistakes.

Be grateful for the simple things you're blessed with.

Listen to a podcast.

Go on a walk.

Choose your kind of 'perfection'.

Think about deep topics and write about it.

heyy so ive been asking around about this but i feel like the hardest thing for me to manifest is a certain face / appearance changes β€” not because it’s hard to manifest in itself but i can never decide on a df or desired features.. how’d you choose yours, if you don’t mind me asking ?

* I'm really hapy to answer this, because I could never choose a DF too! I saw Taylor Hill for the first time few months ago, and I just FELT - like in my heart - that i want to look just like her. Every time i wanted to change my DF, it was just for a small period of time (like when I watched Leon The Professional and wanted to look like Natalie Portman for one evening, but didnt do anything to actually look like her). My eyes, nose and face shape is naturally similiar to Taylor's, and I always felt insecure about these features of mine.

* When I saw Taylors face card absolutely EATING UPP these features i became more confident about my eyes, nose and face shape. I always wanted to have eyes like for example Adriana Lima or Megam Fox even though they're literally the opposite of mine, and after i tried manifesting their face I just looked weird, so when I saw Taylor I just FELT it. I was sure, even though for some time I didnt want to look like her cuz I wanted to (for example) have Brooke Shields eyes, but then I just went with what my heart wants🩷 She really 'fits' my face and i look way much better now!

* If you still struggle with choosing your DF, then make an image where every single DF (past and present) of yours is in it and choose whoever looks more like you and just FEELS right ! Good luck angel 🩷πŸͺ½

* PS. If you choose the DF that feels right and then suddenly want to change it, just stop trying to manifest looking like anyone for a while so you give yourself time if you actually want to look like that person you suddenly felt the need to do so, or if you wanna look like someone you choose before 🌺

* Today was, alright, I guess? I got my period yesterday after not having it for 5 months!! My stomach was kinda hurting all the time but not too much. My first two classes were P.E, we ran for an hour (11°C 😭) and then played volleyball. I love running but that was just.. brutal. The rest of my classes were okay.

* I decided to do a 3 day challenge. It's about listenning to subliminals/affirmation tapes and affirming all the time. Mine is about looking like Taylor Hill and being beautiful!

* After school I baked oatmeal cookies the first time in my life, they turned a bit burned and I put too little sugar in it, but they were fine after putting honey on them! I ate 11 at once LOLL

* I guess that's it, that day was like another average day. XOXO angels 🩷πŸͺ½

Expectations Vs. Reality

When you start your manifestation journey, you choose the desire(s) you want, pick a method for creating it (or simply decide that you already have it), and begin to embody the version of yourself who has it. At this point, you might think you've figured it all out and that everything will be perfectly splendid (any fans of The Haunting of Bly Manor here?). You might expect to feel great and amazing from now on since you know you have your desire. After all, you are God at the end of the day, creating your own reality. So, what could possibly make you feel less than great?

But as you continue on your journey, you might find that you don’t always feel amazing and stay in the state of wish fulfilled. Whenever you experience β€œnegative” feelings or thoughts, you might fear that you've ruined your progress and need to start over again.

Thankfully, that’s not the case. We can experience β€œnegative” emotions and still progress in our manifestation journey. One bad day (or even a bad week) doesn’t ruin your progress. It’s part of our journey. You will find that even people who have manifested their dream lives still have bad days and unpleasant experiences. Such experiences are essential to the human experience because, without them, we wouldn’t be able to fully appreciate joy.

So, just let yourself be and feel whatever you are feeling. Don’t associate yourself with your feelings. They all come and go. The same goes for thoughts. They are something you have, not who you are.

hello everyone,

recently, i have been working a lot on my self concept and have been trying to eliminate all of my limiting beliefs. specifically i have been working on my void state self concept.

i started listening to some affirmation tapes on youtube. i found that i preferred listening to them over actually affirming out loud. it was way easier.

the problem for me was, that the affirmations in the videos didn’t really apply to what i wanted to work on. they would all just say surface level stuff like β€œi am the master of the void”.

when you’re trying to fix your self concept, you have to look deeper than that and find the root cause. you have to identify your limiting beliefs and eliminate them.

for me, one of the things that has been holding me back, is that when I try to get into the void state, i focus too hard on the 3D and on my own senses.

i haven’t been able to find an affirmation tape or subliminal that would help me fix that. so i decided to create my own.

i only made this for myself, and I didn’t plan on posting it. so it’s nothing special. it’s an affirmation tape with more detailed affirmations in the background as a subliminal. it’s only short and simple but it does the job.

this has helped me so much. so I decided to share it with everyone else, because maybe it might help other people too.

just for anyone wondering (life update)

no, i did not shift on that thursday. no, i'm not angry in the slightest. i unfortunately had to face one of my extreme fears (heights) because we were going on a trip to ZA the 26th. i failed every single time after thursday, but i wasn't bothered a bit! the two plane rides were much more underwhelming than i thought, and i managed to stay positive throughout the beginning of my trip when i felt most out of place!

i would get that feeling like "oh my god i want out", "this isn't where i wanna be", "i don't wanna live this life", and immediately i would remind myself i could shift! it was like those negative thoughts didn't affect me anymore.

anyway by this point in my recap it's a happy new year! even though that day i was so drained and sad (i had just lost a friend in my shifting friendgroup who turned out be an awful person). now the next 3 days are just bringing back the bond i had with my other 7 friends and just having a ton of fun. and now, we make it to today! the day i realized i had no reason to be upset about how i had failed my attempt at manifesting my dream life, despite being extremely motivated and all the circumstances being perfect. (i even wore my most comfy pjs 😭)

i was helping one of my friends by introducing her to shiftblr (someone from the shifting fg) and i put her on to a lucid dreaming method that u could use to enter the void state. she'd also entered the void state once before which was nice. anyway i'm kinda yapping this part doesn't really matter but the method does! i had another shifting realization that took me an INSANE amount of time to realize.

i was way too obsessed with my first official experience being perfect.

and how do i know this?

i refused to believe that i could shift on my period.

i also refused to try to shift when i got sick.

i thought if i was sad i couldn't shift.

i was obsessed with awake methods and i thought if i moved or scratched an itch i would be taken out of the trance (this hardened into reality unfortunately)

you see the issue? and i think what makes it even worse is that i KNEW none of this played a role in whether i could shift or not. when i would help baby shifters i would tell them they could feel any way they wanted, they could move anytime they wanted, hell, one of the first shifting experiences i'd seen someone put in a tiktok comment section involved her shifting to escape her period cramps! (she was already on it)

now! what does this have to do with the lucid dreaming method i spoke to my dearest friend about? with lucid dreaming, we know this but i'ma say it again. you are already not aware of your cr. you dont need to do extra steps, you don't need to be extremely relaxed, you don't need to affirm until you fall asleep or any of that! even the method i planned to use that i said was really gonna get me this time, is still harder than simply lucid dreaming! i was worried about all these variables, when i completely forgot that the lucid dreaming method is the ultimate lazy method of all time! i could lucid dream while being sad, on my period, sick, and after moving around a lot! you wanna know how i know? take this morning for example.

today jan 5th, i woke up at 4am and stayed up till somewhere around 9. i was watching one of my comfort movies (bratz, specifically the live action), and talking and giggling with that same shifting fg on discord. i made ramen for myself and had a brief interaction with my mom. i finished the whole movie and realized how tired i was, and went back to bed. now the wbtb method is usually for 10-50 minutes, and you're not meant to use screens. i was awake for nearly 6 HOURS, and by then the wbtb method is null and i'm just awake. i didn't intend to do anything besides sleep, and i had a vivid dream at first, but then i had a false awakening and started realizing what was going on. i don't really feel like explaining the full details of my dream, but know that at some point i realize "wait... i could use this to-" and i cut myself off with a brief "nah" and decided to kill the creature in my room (it was probably gonna become a lucid nightmare).

i'd completely forgotten i naturally have vivid dreams and lucid dreams! and that singular conscious thought helped me take control of my dream. if it isn't obvious by now, i tend to overlook and underlook and it's KILLING ME. but, i'm much happier now knowing that i had a kinda sorta shifting experience while being in ZA when i'm usually extremely hot and uncomfortable in my room (i also have to share a room with my sister).

yea guys i'm pretty happy now! i feel just as motivated as i did then, but i know for a fact that none of those things i was worried about can stop me! (also i've disproved the moving while shifting and swallowing while shifting before, so i have no idea why i still thought i couldn't shift after doing that!!)

SHIFTING YAP SESH

so since today is my last day before winter break (i manifested my parents letting me stay home on friday) i'm gonna be manifesting my dream life tonight!!! the method i'm using is perfect for me despite not even being made by myself 😭 but overall i'm really confident in it, so confident that I won't be posting on tumblr until I have my success story. i've done this before in the past where i've 'found the perfect method' but i really have this time. this method isn't just some 'oh i think it's cool' or 'many people have succeeded with it so i will too' no! this method or should i say technique, is something i've been doing unknowingly and labelling as hypnagogia. if you aren't familiar with this term it's basically just the state between awake and asleep, (about to fall asleep and/or the brink of falling asleep) and I used to think that's what i was doing. i was very wrong.

i was actually doing hypnagogia's hotter sister, hypnapompia, (the state between asleep and awake, a.k.a about to wake up) without realizing. i think a better way to describe it is as your body is about to wake up. a key part of the void state or just shifting in general is that you want your body to be asleep and your mind to be awake. i only discoveeed this devastating mistake a month ago, and i always wondered why hypnagogia never worked for me while it also did. no dumbass!! hypnapompia is what worked for you!!! i used to use wbtb to shift, and on the "btb" part i never shifted then. i always shifted when i had a natural awakening, before my body could lock in and realize we were awake. in that time, i would start affirming. the few times i've managed to do this were my closest to shifting EVER. i even realized that back in aug 2023, i also had an encounter with hypnapompia and that was another one of my craziest shifting experiences (i legit started ascending i cannot make this up). but the fact that i would label it as hypnagogia (i also knew what hypnapompia was which makes it even more upsetting that it took me so long to realize) made my journey a lot more difficult.

if i could've remembered the existence of hypnapompia back in aug 2023, i promise you, i would've shifted already. i don't think the problem is that we aren't acknowledging what makes us shift, it's that we don't know what makes us shift. (stay with me now) of course the answer will always be you, but there are some variables that make it 10x easier. maybe doing affirmations is your variable, maybe visualizing is your variable, maybe one of the hot sisters hypnagogia and hypnapompia are your variables, maybe you don't need a variable at all! but it pains me so much when i read 'almost shifted' stories and they simply don't know what got them so close. and i think misplacing my trust in hypnagogia is what made my experimenting era so damn LONG.

so uhm i'm gonna be using a technique tonight that involves HYPNAPOMPIA!! and not fuckass hypnagogia cuz that never worked for me actually.

Hey! So I feel like I am crubliming financially... I just received an bill that is 1500 dollars and I dont have any income... I really need to manifest money (preferably more than I need to pay) and that FAST. And I have been going trought so much stress that I that my regualtion system is under stress all the time. I also tried anything and I now have belief that I cant manifest money. I want to get rid of this belief and manifest a large sum of money. Please help

Ok so I would suggest getting that stress off your shoulders because it seems like that stress is reinforcing the idea that you don't have money. But you've got to realize that you don't have anything to be stressed about. You already have the money. Having a mindset like this WILL attract money I promise you. Good luck!

Remember that your "desires" are already yours, so start acting like it!

Don't tell yourself "Oh I can't wait to see my results!" Girl, you already have them!!! They are yours! Stop telling yourself that they are absent and that you need to wait for them!

Don't just affirm to yourself and then slip in a thought about "Omg, when is all this affirming going to do something???" The affirming is doing something, because you have it already!

If your mind is telling you that you don't, just gaslight it!

I don't see results! What are you on about, I have my results already.

This isn't working! It already worked.

Why do I not sense any changes! Idk, because obviously there is changes.

Don't let your silly brain be fooled into believing that you don't have it yet, because it is yours.

"I need to do all these random methods to get my desire!" No you don't...

"Manifesting takes a lot of effort and concentration!" It doesn't have to... you're making it more difficult for yourself.

We overcomplicate manifesting so much when all you have to do is choose to have it.

So last night I consciously manifested something and I wanted to share it here!

So I was lying down in my bed, trying to go to sleep. I have an alarm clock, so I turned around, hoping to see 11:11 as the time. Unfortunately, it was 10:59. But when I turned away from it, I thought "I'll see 11:11," and after that I gave it like zero thought.

A couple minutes later, I was still relaxing, still trying to sleep when a little voice in me said "Check the clock." I turned around to check, and the time was 11:11. This thought came out of no where and I have a horrid internal clock, so it was a very small, but at the same time significant thing to me. I assumed that I would see 11:11 and I didn't have to affirm anywhere beyond that. Manifesting is literally that easy.

Stop obsessing over what you see in the mirror, although that's often easier said than done. The key to receiving your desires is to remember that you already have them! But maybe you struggle to "convince" yourself of something that you feel just can't be true. What works best for me is to constantly shut that little voice in my head down before it gets the chance. Although it sounds silly, maybe personify those doubts and make them seem weak, like something that begs for your attention but can never get it (I do this with my OCD intrusive thoughts too). Something that helped me was using my own method, The Letter Method.

Maybe you've done this and still don't feel like you're seeing anything. Well, remember that our physical reality isn't that real. The reality in our mind is. In the same way we are often told to disregard our imagination, we ought to do the same with the "real" world.

Ok, so awhile ago, I was super into shifting. Unfortunately, I had very little success. I decided that it was best for me to take a month long break from shifting. So I took a break, but it ended up being way more than just a month. I did stay more connected with LOA though (I believe that manifesting and shifting are the same, but I think of shifting as more sudden and profound). I joined Tumblr for the manifestation community but saw so many shifters here as well. That reminded me of my shifter "phase."

I want to try shifting again, but this time approach with a much more healthy mindset. I also think that it would be awesome since I have a better understanding of manifestation/LOA.

The only thing is that I have no idea where to shift to. Like I get that I can go literally anywhere, but that's why I'm overwhelmed. I was thinking maybe shifting to MHA (even though I'm not as involved in the series anymore, it would still be such a cool experience, no?), or common ones like fame/singer. Any suggestions would be great!

Quick note: I don't know if someone else has already done something like this. They probably have but its whatever.

This is for people who are good at/enjoy writing! Okay so first of all, identify your desire. It can be anything really. I personally would suggest choosing one things instead of a bunch of things but you can do that as well.

So now that you have your desire, act like you're the version of you that already has it. Get into that state of mind and really feel like that's who you are right now.

The next step is open any sort of writing app. I used Notion. Now write a letter to your old self, the one who doesn't have your desire. Write all of the details about how you got your desire, how you and people around you reacted to this. Really make it detailed and feel real (because it is).

I want to talk about how I felt doing this. Honestly it felt so strange. I really was the version of me who had my desire when I was typing out my letter, and honestly I still feel like that as I'm writing this post too. I think the more that I do this, the more I connect with this (the one who has the desires) version. I know for sure I will absolutely be doing this again!
