It has been a while since I updated this au, rip. Anyways, I caught up with season 3, both dubs. So I have story notes and what not, most of the season goes the same though.

Xiaojiao and Sun Wukong’s relationship is a lot more strained, with Xiaojiao being much more vocally hostile towards him because he abandoned Xiaotian. She’s a lot more impatient and just wants to get everything done quickly so that she can get her friends back. The climax at the mountain happens, she calms down by thinking of Xiaotian, she leaves and meets Red Son.

At some point while Liu Er was chasing the 3 rings group Xiaotian was possessed by LBD. He finds out about this in the lamp, she threatens to use the boy instead of Liu Er and do much more damage to him. In the end it didn’t matter what he did because Sun Wukong arriving to fight her ends with her spirit leaving Xiaotian’s body. He drops from where he was floating, cracking his head on the ground below.

Nezha grabs Xiaotain in an attempt to protect him and they are teleported away by Liu Er.

I really liked the name “Eye for an eye” for this au that @spotsupstuff suggested! (thank you so much for the really nice comments btw, they made my day :D)

the reason Xioatain’s eye is golden is because LBD ripped it out when he tried escaping. Xioatain’s powers allow him to heal really quickly. However he’s only ever gotten broken bones and cuts, which are fairly simple compared to a whole eye. In response to this his powers made a new eye, however his vision on the left only really works when he has his truth sight on. (LBD threatened to eat the eye btw, you can choose if she actually did)

Six ear was also present in a different part of the cave when the injury took place and heard everything, it’s how he found out Xioatains was there, he’ll never forget those screams of anguish.

During Xiaojiao‘s search she often took breaks where she would mourn the supposed loss of her best friend/brother. The last picture of Xioatain was taken the day before his disappearance. A couple weeks after Xioatain disappeared Tang dragged her to the shadow theater to give her a break, where she meets macaque (he taunts her about the “abandonment” before becoming suspicious of the circumstances in which Xioatain disappeared in). Thats when her plot line starts up, and soon after the season final takes place we spend more time with her as she goes through her grief, determination and her resentment towards the monkey king.

I still have no idea where this au is going, i barely have a story written down.

@unseelie-robynx​ asked some good questions, and I just figured out some answers: - Why exactly, did she keep him? Xioatain acts as a battery, he’s a source of unlimited power, so long as he’s alive. He is also a very good hostage. Sun Wukong can’t act recklessly unless he risks the life of his dear student. - Why is it enough to change Macaque’s mind? Short answer: seeing how WBD treats Xiaotain makes him feel like shit. Long answer: Through multiple talks with Xiaotain makes him realise multiple things about himself and his past and current relationships. He’s held onto a very unhealthy grudge and his resentment has prevented him from properly moving on and making new relationships with other people. These conversations were not a calm or nice however, lots of yelling was exchanged, their relationship starts off very, VERY strained. I think that even by the end of the AU they will still have some problems.

If I ever expand this au, which I might seeing as I have other things planned, the story would be split in two. Plot A would follow Macaque and Xiaotain, their relationship and their situation. Plot B would focus more on Long Xiaojiao’s side of the story. She’s desperately looking for her friend, with only a few clues to go off of. I think that later on plot B would also include Wukong as he teams up with xiaojiao.

Feel free to add anything else on, this is still very much a work in progress and my first time making something like this.

Au kinda? Lady Bone Demon managed to capture MK before Spider Queen, taking the staff. The staff was what helped MK control his powers, and so removing it caused it to be harder to manage. Macaque still gets captured by LBD, still works (willingly?) with LBD and eventually discovers where MK is being held. He doesn’t help MK until LBD reveals why she kept him around though. I don’t know if I’ll continue this or what the au would be called, feel free to add onto this if you’d like.

her straight up saying "fist fight a child " is so funny to me

she doenst really look like a child here, she has altered the girls appearance so much that people dont identify her a a child anymore. Wukong saying "We both know thats not what you are" is refereeing to her mind and actual age as a demon but i personally also like to interpret it as him saying that the body shes pocessing doesnt look like a child anymore and cant pass as one anymore. She cant trick ppl into believing she was innocent or naive anymore

Looking for a Fic

You know that feeling when you find an absolute gem of a fic, so good that in your mind it's actual canon content...so good you have dreams about it and even after *years* it's ever-present at the back of your mind. But when you go looking for it, it's GONE?! Sending you spiraling for several weeks as you desperately scour the web for it. And after several weeks and cryptic dreams about the plot, you feel as if you might be slowly loosing it.

Well, that's my current situation. I'm getting desperate- so desperate that I'm on tumblr.com begging for help(not desperate enough to log into reddit tho). Please tell me I'm not crazy and I didn't dream up one of the best fics I've ever read.

The fic was a Lego Monkie Kid fic centered around Bai He (aka LBD's host) after the events of season three. Itwassowellwrittengodineeditnow.

From what I remember:

Shadowpeach was the main romantic(kinda) relationship mentioned although from the few chapters I read it focuses more on the platonic relationships at the beginning. Also PIF and DBK were briefly implied to be in a poly relationship with an original female character which was cool.

The description was something along the lines of: "Bai He is just trying to pick up the pieces of her life after the Lady Bone Demon is gone. Luckily, she has the help of MK and the others... something something- Wukong noticed the shadows of the male primate circling the island but never having the courage to come closer.." Or something like that.

Bai He my emotionally repressed princess/affectionate. You could tell the author wrote her character with a lot of love. She was an orphan who had been in the care of an orphanage in France(I believe) before she became a street kid in China. There was also this underlying subtext that her time spent in France was during the 90s(the lore bro, the *lore*). Bai He's disconnect between her ethnic background compared to the rest of the gang made her interactions with the main cast really unique.

Lady Bone Demon's relationship with Bai He was portrayed as almost like an abusive/manipulative parent that you can't seem to completely hate because they're your parent and they're doing what they think is the best for you. Chiefs kiss.

Any fic that mentions the nuances of LBD and MK's dynamic instead of watering down her character to that vile evil Witch who wanted to destroy the world>>>>>>

The subtle world building 🙇peak🙇. The story literally began outside the city where the residents were evacuated. This included the main gang who'd basically already taken Bai He in. There were passing mentions of other mythological pantheons. Plus references to the JTTW.(the author mentioned something about Wukong having descendants which was mind-boggling to me- ik it's inaccurate but whatever.)

Monkey King basically got custody of Bai He and he took her to Flower Fruit Mountain to watch over her condition.

The author detailed Bai He's struggles with her past and her present situation as she was no longer fully human.

Nahza(my goat) was there, living up to his role as protector of children.

The closest fic I've found is 'A Bone to Pick' by SmilesThroughFandoms but the vibe is off. It isn't the same.

It was incomplete with more than 20 000 words and posted somewhere between late 2022/23.(this was the general time frame I read the fic before loosing it. In my defense I (a) didn't have an ao3 account at the time and (b) I was reading it in incognito mode🤡)

If anyone has any information about it please please please please please tell me.

Good day to you too! I gotta admit, LBD is overlooked a lot in terms of reader fics. Though, I think that's mostly because of her association with the Host Girl. This piece is strictly LBD, so the Host Girl is gonna be out of the picture (cuz it would be weird otherwise-)

Warnings: Mentions of death, poverty, and violence. Nothing explicit, though. Also, this is very long.

You are perfection to me | LBD x Demon!Reader (part 1?)

Ok so first of all, before LBD decided to literally wipe out the earth, we gotta remember that she once tried to help out humanity by working in a high ranking position for an emperor back in Ancient China

Demons weren't exactly... Well liked back in those days. So when you were caught sneaking around the palace grounds, you hauled to the emperor himself to be given your sentence

And what would you know, he chose execution! Lovely. (Note the sarcasm)

Bound in chains with guards pointing their weapons at you, you had no choice but to listen as the emperor listed off how horrifyingly painful your death was gonna be, and how you were gonna be used as an example to ward off other demonic threats that may enter the castle

You grit your teeth in frustration. This was not how it was supposed to go at all... You weren't breaking in with any malicious intent, you simply just wanted to speak with the Emperor about the condition of the kingdom! You've seen the struggles of demons and humans alike, and yet nothing was being done about it.

But who would ever listen to you, a mere demon? Your kind is not innocent by an means, so obviously, you would be just as evil as the rest of them. Why would anyone take your word and actually help you?

You lost all hope in that moment. Hope in yourself, hope for the kingdom's future, and most of all, hope in the emperor for not lifting a finger to help those in need

Until a woman in white robes comes in the room

You knew instantly that something wasn't right. That woman, she wasn't human. No, she was something worse...

A demon

But what was a demon doing in the emperors palace? In such luxurious robes, no less? Has she actually successfully fooled the entire court?

Your hands grip in anger when you realize that this demon must be living the most comfortable life, while everyone else was suffering in poverty. What a traitor.

She slides her sharp gaze over to you, still in chains and kneeling on the floor, and opens her mouth

You prepared yourself to be insulted, ridiculed, or even to get completely ignored. You went through all of that and more back at the kingdom's slums

But-

"Your Holy Highness, I must ask you to release this demon and set them free."

You blinked.

What? She wanted to set you free?

Apparently, everyone else was as shocked as you were

"Excuse me? We cannot just let this demonic spawn go! We must set an example to all those who wish to infiltrate the castle with malicious intent. Letting them walk free of their crimes would be scandalous!"

The woman bowed, looking like the epitome of grace

"As your advisor, my job is to leave you words of wisdom and guidance in times of need. This is one of those times. If we slaughter a helpless demon, then those lurking in the city will see this as an act of war, and would attempt to perform an uprising. It is best if we keep this one alive and safe, to avoid any unnecessary conflict."

The emperor thinks this over, and you lightly tremble. The woman has a point. The relationship between the demons in the kingdom with the emperor is... shaky. She's speaking from a point of logic

But that still doesn't explain why she would help you. Sure, to avoid any conflict from the demon race, but is that really all there is?

The emperor scoffs in a haughty tone

"Hmph. You are foolish, Ivory Lady. But if you insist, then we shall let the demon.... walk free."

The council doesn't seem pleased with the emperors decision. Hell, even the emperor himself looks obviously displeased on letting you walk free. But you couldn't care less.

You were going to live.

You were so close to death, but you somehow avoided it

And it's all thanks to...

Your eyes glance at the Ivory Lady, standing with full composure, not as speck of reaction on her neutral face

"But!" the emperor speaks again, as if he was determined to let your life be living hell. "This demon still broke into the palace, which is a massive offense! In order to not let this demon go unpunished, they must stay at the castle as a servant, attending to all the higher ups needs."

The Emperor sports a smug smirk on his face, but you couldn't care less. All you could care about was the Ivory Lady, bowing down to the emperor, not a hitch in her voice as she says

"As you wish, Your Holiness."

Now you walk down the impossible long hallways of the palace, the Ivory Lady at your side. You were told to accompany her as she shows you your new living quarters. The emperor said that a simple servant could do that, but the Ivory Lady insisted that she would do it

Your chains are still on your wrists, and a part of you flares in irritation. You may be alive, but at the cost of your freedom. Furthermore, you wouldn't be able to do anything about the suffering beyond the palace walls. The reason on why you came to the emperor in the first place has disappeared.

Well... maybe not everything was as bad as it seemed

"I would like to apologize on behalf of the emperor," the Ivory Lady speaks up. You jolt, not expecting her to talk to you. "He... does not think things through sometimes."

"Ah," You awkwardly say, surprised that she was brave enough to indirectly insult the emperor "Thank you. For um, saving me. And for the apology. Although there is no need to apologize, I did break into the palace grounds after all."

The Ivory Lady shakes her head

"Still, you do not deserve to be punished in such a way. You did not come here for malicious intent, correct?"

You nod, wondering how she knew that. "No, I... I came here to speak with the emperor."

The Ivory Lady shows mild interest in your words. "What did you wish to speak about?"

"About the suffering in the kingdom. I myself live in the slums and have witnessed the pain that everyone there shares. There are thieves and violence; poverty and famine; all demons and humans are desperately trying to get by. I was hoping, that by talking with the emperor he would be able to do something, but..."

You trailed off, sorrow overtaking your body. The Ivory Lady seems to understand, for she hums sadly

"I see... Truth be told, the reason why I took upon this job was to aid to rid the world of suffering. I hoped that by helping with someone with real power and guided them to be better, I could create the perfect world. A world without the endless pain and misery."

You listen to her words, entranced. She sounds genuine, and a flash of sadness comes across her face for a brief moment, before being smoothed out into a hardened and sharp look

"But I am starting to think this may be a fruitless effort."

"You are not human, are you?" You blurt out, wanting to know more about this mysterious woman and her perspective of the world

She doesn't respond, keeping silent for a few steps and stopping at a wooden door.

"This will be your living quarters. It is not comfortable by any means, but it should be enough. I shall see you tomorrow."

She turns to walk away, but you stop her.

"Wait! Let me help you. I want to remove people's suffering more than anything. If you are being honest... Then let me assist you in making a perfect world."

She halts in her steps as you speak. The Ivory Lady turns her head, enough for you to see the small smirk on her face. For a moment, your heart flutters.

"I shall see you in the morning. Rest well."

She turns away and continues walking. Her steps slowly fade away as you're left staring at where she went.

You hope that the glimmer in the Ivory Lady's eyes before she left was a yes

Honestly, I'm proud of this one! I hope I wrote LBD in character! I love characters that use fancy words, they're always fun to write. This was getting a bit long, so if anyone wants/requests a part 2 then drop one in my inbox and I'll see if I can do it!
