I hate and love being a woman at the same time. Do I get to dress all girly and pretty? Yes. Do I have pains in my uterus and breasts? Also yes. Girlhood is pretty painful.

Me at 13: ugh all these girls are soooo drama, I am different. I don't even wear pink and listen to pop songs. I guess I am 'not like the other girls'.

Me at 17: loves pink, doesn't like jeans and wears dresses and skirts, watches chick flicks, listens to mainstream pop, worships Taylor Swift, waits for the MET gala every year, loves gossip, watches Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga fashion shows, watches video essays on celebrity culture and media, follows fashion historians, hates sports, hates video games, hates most "boyish" activities and wishes I was in a Jane Austen novel or a Nicolas Sparks movie.

Coquette Summer Essentials:

Some essentials you may want to invest in for a Coquette summer ♡

Heart shaped sunglasses. Pink, beige, white or red go with most outfits, and are an absolute staple <3

Milkmaid dresses/tops. They give farmers daughter vibes and go with literally everything. Try and get white ones that match with most things <3

Pretty, long “flowing” skirt’s. Floral ones or baby pink ones are the best because they are eye catching and are pretty summer colors. They also are nice and breezy, not too hot if your walking around/exploring a city in the middle of the hot day <3

Cami tops. (self explanatory, they go with every coquette outfit no matter the season) <3

Dainty flip flops. Try and get ones with daisies or rhinestones, flowers or lace on them <3

A pretty bikini. You can get floral ones, pink ones, Victoria secret ones are so pretty too! <3

Light-wash denim shorts and dungaree’s <3

Floral dresses, tops and shorts <3

Light colored bedding, to give your room a fresh feel <3

Beach scented candles for your room/home <3

A pretty beach bag, to store all your girly essentials in <3

A cute beach towel, to look like a doll for those tanning hours <3

Seashell/dainty jewelry. Preferably gold because it looks beautiful with a tan <3

Hair ribbons/flower hair clips/flower crowns/pretty claw clips/tie head bands for those pretty summer hair styles <3

A floral/coconut/fresh scented shower gel, moisturizer, hand cream, lip scrub and body spray/mist, to keep you smelling and feeling fresh on mega-hot days <3

A signature perfume. (Miss Dior, one of the Ariana Grande fragrances, Chanel etc) <3

A pretty handheld fan, to keep in your bag on hot days <3

A cute, pink pair of sneakers for when your walking/hiking a lot <3

A pink water-bottle, so you stay hydrated all day long which is so important! (I love the Lululemon one) <3

A pink yoga-mat. For outdoor Pilate and Yoga sessions in the summer mornings/evening’s <3

It take me like 2 weeks just to make a rough sketch digitally but on paper it take me 1 hours or so, just to make a complete drawing.

It even look so much better than the digital one. I’m crying on the inside.

keep urself clean and keep up with ur basic hygiene (shower every day)

get hungry for knowledge - go to libraries, read in coffee shops, etc.

always be kind and don’t talk crap about people! this is a big one because it really affects ur attitude and the way other people see u

stay organized. an easy way to do this is just to tidy ur room before you go to bed. this way, ur bedroom is more ur sanctuary

do ur hair pretty!! use accessories like scrunchies, headbands, claw clips, etc.

always have your essentials in ur bag (menstrual products, lip gloss, phone, earbuds, whatever makes u feel prepared)

remember that u don’t have to prove anything to others. make urself enough for u personally without worrying what other people think, because chances are they’re focused more on themselves

if u embarrass yourself, laugh it off and stay calm. u are above embarrassment babes, u are divine, so a little slipup won’t matter

have dance parties in ur room to songs that make u feel confident

remember that control doesn’t mean controlling other people. control means controlling ur own assumptions
