Happy Birthday Robert Tinkler! 💜💙🩵

Today is Robert Tinkler’s Birthday! AKA the English VA of these two lovely redheads of Beyblade, Brooklyn and Gingka! So I thought I’d make something to celebrate the occasion, and thank the man who made my childhood and so much more! Happy Birthday!! 🎂🎉🎊🎈

I present to you all my very cursed cross gen AU idea of Brooklyn being Gingka’s older brother.

This has been an idea I have had for years and have since haven’t been able to get it out of my mind because 1. Gingka and Brooklyn are both voiced by the same English VA- Robert Tinkler and that still gives me total whiplash to this day, 2. They are both crazy powerful redheads in their respective gens who kick major ass and get real serious when angry, and 3. The fact that they both have angel imagery/motifs because of Zeus and Pegasus respectively of which both just so happened to be quadrupeds with wings like wow what are the odds, so because of that, I came up with this funny lil AU idea.

This is more or less an AU where Gingka exists in OG, just him and Ryo, nothing more. They live far off in the country side, Brooklyn is Gingka’s older step brother and his mom is always busy with work so he stays over with them a lot. Gingka always dragging him around and showing him around their small quaint village, much to Brooklyn’s annoyance, but doesn’t complain since he likes the nature walks and enjoys playing in the flower fields with Gingka and saying hi to the animals at the farm.

This is all like, pre/during s1? Gingka wouldn’t shut up about Beyblade, and Brooklyn had mild interest in Beyblade prior to their parents marriage because it was growing popular and he thought eh, why not, and hadn’t gotten too serious about it till he met Gingka, who wanted to battle him a lot. 

Once the championships began, the rest was history, and Gingka got real inspired as you can see. 

They both had beys that were passed down from their families. Ryo gave Pegasus to Gingka, and Brooklyn was given Zeus by his biological father before he passed. Later on, at some point Boris heard about Brooklyn’s gifted talent, and sought him out during VForce. Much to Gingka’s dismay.

He wouldn’t be able to see him again till the end of GRev, so they had a goodbye battle before Brooklyn left for BEGA.

What happens afterwards you may ask? Well let’s just say a worried Gingka books it on over to see if his big brother is ok, all the while meeting with the Bladebreakers, hilarity ensues as everyone finds out Brooklyn has a little brother, who is just as strong and powerful as he is lol

I might come back and refine and colour these sketches. Who knows.

Tyson and Brooklyn meeting up when they were kids is pretty much metaphorical/Symbolic.

They never actually met as kids, the whole point of that scene was to show that Tyson was able to figure out at the heart of why Brooklyn was lashing out to begin with during their battle- for since they were essentially having a battle within the mind when Brooklyn started going crazy and tearing up reality to create his own world within himself thanks to Zeus’s powers- Tyson was pretty much able to talk to his inner child/ at his most vulnerable, and understand where he was coming from, getting a glimpse of who Brooklyn is and why he is, all of it representing how Tyson is able and is trying to connect and relate with him when reaching out.

And by God, it makes me fucking cry every time ;w; I remember watching that scene for the first time as a kid and getting chills, like I was scared of Brooklyn before but after that scene, I just wanted to give him a big ole hug. 

His battle with Tyson was the opposite for me and I loved it till the very end, collateral damage and all. Those last couple of episodes made me love his character, of which has since grown exponentially since then lol and of course, the wings go so hard

And I gotta give it to Tyson, how despite everything, he wanted to see and understand Brooklyn as a person first, that it was clear the guy had gone through some stuff and was completely non judgemental about it. Love that. 

I know G-Rev gets shit on by some parts of the fandom, and for good reasons, but I honestly can’t bring myself to hate it for everything and most especially this. I just love and enjoy the BEGA arc a lot lol it was a fun time

Brooklyn from OG?

General opinion: My least favorite out of the 3 Bakuten Shoot final bosses but that's honestly only bc I got attached to Yuriy and Zeo more, Brooklyn is still a very enjoyable and interesting character and I still really like him, mf humiliated and mentally (and physically) scarred Kai and he still somehow managed to do it majestically and ykw? I respect that

And speaking of Kai, Brooklyn's reaction to having his first loss in his life by him is the defintion of crashout like holy shit bro (and Hitoshi encouraging that was NOT helping at all.....seriously dude Ik you want to make Takao stronger but like.. you doing too much fr), that MIGHT be engraved into my memory

Tho speaking of his crashout, one of the reasons why I probably don't like him as much as Yuriy and Zeo is bc of his final match against Takao, tho I wouldn't say it was really his fault, the writers just felt the need to be edgy (thx to my mutual who pointed this out to me, it's honestly my main problem with G Revolution in general)

Like....seriously? Destroying a WHOLE ASS CITY??? Ik this is Beyblade we're talking about but it gets to a point ("But Yuriy literally created another dimension against Takao-" SHHH, that's different trust), it just felt like they were doing too much yk? It's my grand example of "Beyblade is NOT that serious"

This frame goes HARD tho

I also wish we got more implications that Takao and Brooklyn have met before, like we did get flashback of them as kids but it would've been nice if Takao was like "Huh, this guys seems kinda familiar" or smtg, tho I really liked that flashback ngl

I did eat up the whole "So talented, he can predict bey battles without looking at them" concept tho, I don't think any Beyblade antag was like that (Ik Gwyn kinda did smtg similiar but there's a difference, 1 Brooklyn didn't even have to look at the bey battle and 2 Gwyn did a bunch of calculations while Brooklyn just KNEW, bro got that much aura)

Also I call him Beyblade Snowhite, him getting along with animals is so sweet to me idk why, probably bc they were his only friends during his childhood (interestingly opposite from Kai, bc I'm pretty sure the animals did not like him very much despite him trying to be friendly with them)

(also this is probably just a vibe thing but he kinda reminds me of Luka from Alien Stage)

Opinions on his design: Bro does NOT look like he's from Beyblade, and I mean this in a good way, bro's majestic, ginger hair suits him so well and his whole appearance being angelic while being an antagonist AUURRGHH, I eat that trope up every time

And while like I said, I don't really like his final fight with Takao very much I loved the wings, wish they were used in a more metaphorical/less dramatic way idk if that makes sense, but ye I think they're pretty cool, the earring is also very pretty

Favorite headcanon: I feel like he can't eat most everyday food, like he has so much allergies to the point he needs to eat some special nutritional food if you get what I mean

Favorite ship: Brooklyn x Garland, tho mostly post canon (like what WAS Brooklyn doing in Garland's backyard in that special G Revolution japanese ending 🤨)

Also him not having a last name always bothered me, I saw some ppl use Masefield as his last name but idk

It's an rp that @zennx-23 and I were doing, where Hiromi and her team—consisting of our ocs, Peter, Annie (my ocs) and Blair (Also Zen's OC—and Brooklyn and Hiromi) do get caught up in chess game with Zeus, Brooklyn's bit-beast for the end of the world.

Blake (Zen's OC) is influencing Dark Takao, and therefore corrupting Seiryuu. And it's up to Blake's brother, Blair, to make the choice to stop Blake. And it's up to the Bladebreakers and Takao's girlfriend (Zen's OC, Saori) to stop Takao on this path of self-destruction.

Zeus wishes to take advantage of this chaos.

However, Zeus is busy acting up against Brooklyn's will, and Hiromi, with her bit-beast, challenges him.

And he starts a chess game with her for the end of the world against her—everything from her dear friends, past flame, foes, enemies, her past friendships to corrupt—are pieces on this chess game, while she finds the strongest warriors who will stand with her to to put him check! Including Brooklyn!

Hopefully forever.

Zeus believes that there will be three kings who will fight in this new world, so he's been calculating. He hates Seiryuu and Takao, because they beat him. He hates Blake, because he's a menace.

While Brooklyn lacks the will to bring about the new world he wants, perhaps, he thinks, as he looks at his chess board at Hiromi's pieces. Perhaps, he could use a new human with such an unshakeable will, who is slowly falling into corruption herself.

Will... will Hiromi be able to battle her own demons and fight back for humanity??

Or will she become his new pawn when she's in check?

He's quite excited!

While they are making moves against each other, Blake enters the game to mess everything up...
