I think Chimney should be the one to get Buddie to actually happen.

He did it with Hen and Karen and look at them now: married with two kids

This could be Buck and Eddie.

They already have the kid part down.

The thing about Chimney is he's like...the only one that hasn't had a significant "I need to quit my job" discussion/arc. Sure, he left to find Maddie, but that was never about a "I don't know if I can help people" or "I am not in my right frame of mind" and it was clear he always, always planned on coming back if he could. I think genuinely he's just content and happy. He knows his place in the world now, he has his wife, his daughter, the baby on the way, his best friend, his brother and brother-in-law, his bantering on the edge of flirty relationship with his boss, and he gets to help people. He doesn't want to be captain, he doesn't want to become a doctor, he doesn't feel the need to constantly prove he's worthy of the job. He found where he belongs and he knows it. It's why he fought so hard to get Maddie back because he KNOWS he found something with her, and even if they weren't together romantically (which obviously that's where they'd end up) he knows that he needs her in his life and as a mom to Jee. And it's so interesting to see him get hurt and maimed and sick all the time. Because he's just a dude trying to get home to his wife and his family and his beautiful, beautiful life. It's what he wanted! And he's so so so different from everyone else in the show because he never seems like he questions if he deserves it. He had a little blip when Maddie was pregnant the first time, but it was covid so I mean, I get it. But every like deeply life threatening thing he goes through, he never says "maybe I deserve to die" or "maybe I deserve this horrible thing" or "maybe my life was going TOO well so I needed to be PUNISHED" He is very much a character who is like "I don't care, I love my life so much that I will let Ravi commit domestic terrorism to save me, and I won't even feel guilty" because Chimney is not a martyr! Bobby, especially would be like "leave me for dead pls" but Chim is like "I have a HOT wife, who attacked a serial killer with a HAMMER to defend me and I MUST get home to her no matter what." It's like he goes through this life or death circumstances all of the time, and he's like if this is the price I must pay for my BIG BEAUTIFUL HAPPY LIFE, then I will gladly do so. Hell, he even makes jokes along the way and whistles and chews his gum. There's no point to this, I just love Chimney and I love that he loves his life when in the beginning he seemed to be looking for more. I'm glad he found it.

Buck: Do we know exactly how Bobby survived?

Chim: Yeah because we were infected at the same time, and he was fine for most of it?

Hen: His golden blood kept him safe. And even though it was a super strain, changing the way the disease spreads diminished its lethality.

Ravi: So it wasn't airborne after all?

Eddie: I was wondering about that. The regular CCHF spreads through insect bites or contact with fluids of another infected human.

Hen: Yeah, the super strain tried to change that and made it more unstable in the process.

Buck: Hence Cap's zombie routine.

Chim: Well, thank God for Cap's resurrection powers.

Eddie: I guess Cap has his Halloween costume locked in now.

No because I think this is the exact reason I fell in love with 9-1-1 so much. Season one, Bathena got together, and I was so dissapointed, because if you've watched more than two tv shows in your life, you know what happenes to couples who get together in the first season. They get used for drama, they are thrust into repeating storylines, they either aren't endgame, or they break up and make up all the time, over and over, and are horrible to each other bur still stay together. (Cough cough Ross and Rachel from Friends.) It kills the characters instantly, and it kills their storylines. I was so mad.

But then I kept watching, bc it's not like this was a new feeling - this happens all the time. Disappointing, but whatever. So I kept waiting for the inevitable fallout and breakup and unnecessary drama between Bathena, and it just... didn't happen. They just... moved foreward in their relationship, and the showrunners made them interesting as fuck - without breaking them up unnecessarily!! Fucking bonkers to me, especially how Henren started out in season one. But Bathena had fights, and drama, and happy moments, and they defied what I thought a season-one-couple was.

And then it just kept on going. Bathena, Madney, Henren - they all found their special person and they didn't have to give that up to remain interesting or original. I've never seen anything like it before. It was magical. Still is.

I think that's why I'm not terrified that they are going to fuck up Buddie. If any other show decided to get the two popular and constantly shipped male leads together, I KNOW they couldn't do them justice, especially in the long run. But 911 can. Because they've already done it. Multiple times. And that just makes me so freaking happy.

domestic buddie being imminent is also fun bc this show does a good job at keeping a relationship dynamic interesting after getting characters together. henren is established from day one and while karen isn’t around as much as the mains their presence/drama is still there. bathena got more interesting once they started blending their family. madney went thru sooo much up and down and now they’re happily married and maddie’s still getting serial killer kidnapped and saving chim’s life w hammers. domestic buddie are gonna keep having insane things happen bc that’s the show but now they will get to react to it as romantic partners and (eventual) husbands. :)

Chim, struggling with a recipe: Eddie, can you Google how many ounces are in a cup? My hands are covered in flour.

Eddie: Sure, one sec. Buck!

Buck: Yeah?

Eddie: How many ounces are in a cup?

Buck: Eight.

Eddie: Thank you.

Chim: Now, what the hell was that?

Eddie: Six years, Chim. Haven't had to Google a thing.

Chim: Mmhm, why don't you ask Buck what the definition of codependency is next?

chim, i knew you wouldn't let go of freddie fakeman, i knew i could trust you, never let them live it down king

the same maddie han who got out the ocean for her husband and her daughter is the same maddie han who summoned the strength to climb the stairs and knock out the serial killer holding a gun to her husband. all while bleeding out from getting her throat cut from said serial killer. the most final girl ever.

As the new episode is almost out, might i just remind everyone to PLEASE TAG YOUR SPOILERS‼️‼️

We all love the show and we all want to watch it without spoilers for the first time, so PLEASE DONT FORGET TO TAG THEM AND/OR ALWAYS PUT THEM BELOW THE CUT‼️‼️

I never would have guessed that a wee woo show would end up being my comfort show.

A List of Events I am Manifesting or Predicting for Tonight's Episode of 9-1-1: 8x10

JLH is going to be giving us one of her best performances to date. Maddie is going to be an absolute badass and finds a way to get herself out.

I am generally not a fan of physical violence, especially depictions of men hitting women, but I think Chimney should be allowed to get (1) hit in on Amber when he realizes she was the one to take Maddie

For the love of all things good, please no miscarriage storyline as a consequence of whatever this woman is going to do to Maddie. I need this to be a happy pregnancy, and they welcome another little girl into the family that they name Joy. Please and thank you

Buck crashes out about potentially losing another person he loves AGAIN

The 118 comforting Buck and Chim and reassuring them that Maddie will be okay and that they'll find her

Chimney struggling with knowing what to do and how to talk to their daughter about mommy being missing

This is one thing I saw mentioned by another creator, and I love the idea: Jee-Yun, being the only other person home at the time, may hold the key to finding Maddie in some way.

Eddie is going to give Buck his couch. I might spontaneously combust with this one. Honestly, though, if they don't do this, it feels like the couch talk was for nothing. If it happens, I would also like this silent moment after Eddie offers Buck the couch where they both kinda recognize what it means, but neither one is ready to acknowledge it out loud.

I feel like the goodbye scene between Buck and Eddie is going to be shot and cut in such a way that it is a direct parallel to his goodbye scene with Abby.

Buck will go back to Eddie's place– his place– and will probably end up drinking a beer alone and crying on the couch :(

I admit I like BL but that's not the reason why I ship Buddie! I have a lot of good reasons why I think they are perfect for each other... Btw, I took inspiration on THIS lovely post from Fedzz_z on twitter, go check them out, their artwork is amazing :D

If this song can be used in the new season to show each pair (buddie, bathena, henren, madney) of the 118's mindset when they're separated or disconnected from the one they deeply care about during a major call. They then see them at the verge of death and would do anything in their power to save them resulting in much needed talks about their traumas and how it would affect their relationship.

They are all so chaotic
