Old Gods

Old Gods

when was the last time when you touched the earth?

lowered your head, bent your knees, buried your hands in the life giving grass and rich dirt? close your eyes, listen closely to the rustle of leaves, the song of the wind, the heartbeats of birds. feel the sun on your back, feel as it colours you in shimmers of gold. feel the life around you, never ending and never stopping, old voices singing the same hymn since the beginning of time.

take a deep breath. open your eyes.

you’ll see them.

Lilacs

Today I picked lilacs which are EVERYWHERE around where i live. Im drying them out right now to get them ready to make oil! With the oil ill be making a skin care cream! Heres what Ill do Steps: 1. Let lilacs dry for about a week or so 2. put dried lilacs and base oil (such as olive, sunflower, etc) in a jar and let it sit for about a month, shaking every day 3. Use oil (i prefer with herbs still in) mixing with bees wax (a base for creams and lotions, etc). 4. Put aloe vera in the cream and there ya go!. Both aloe and lilac are good for skin conditions and sunburns. Such as rashes, sunburns, acne and many more! I’ll update as things progress! Geez by the time i finish… Ill have TONS of cream/lotion/what ever

I thought it could be useful in spells and knot magic !

In the Celtic tradition, nettles are great to ward off spirits when worn, protect your home and may also boost your sexual performances if placed under the mattress.

so you're a bit confused about the different phases of the moon or how and what they do or you're just too lazy to actively hunt down the info and put it in your grimoire. No worries, your witch dad is here to help you :)

New Moon:

new moon, happens every month, start of a new lunar cycle.

cannot be seen, sun behind moon-lighting side faced away from the earth.

best for: new beginnings, setting intentions for the month, best place to make plans and decide what to do.

Waxing Moon:

seen as crescent in the sky, illuminated on right-hand side as sun slowly starts to move from behind the moon. first sign that energy is building and in a few days the moon will be at full power

best for: working on self-confidence/compassion/self-assurance. put plans into place to reach goals. build yourself up

First Quarter:

can see a clear half-moon in the sky. at half power. sun is side by side with moon

best for: reflection, taking a pause, revel in what you have been working on and celebrate achievements. think about how u want to celebrate full moon, get ready for serious action.

Waxing Gibbous:

slither of dark moon left unseen. one step away from full power

best for: one phase away from full, hone in on intentions/goals/actions.

make sure you are paying attention to details and staying mindful of what is externally and internally happening

Full Moon:

Big boy moon. Full power. can tap into her energy to help gain insight or to 💫manifest💫. most powerful time of the moon

best for: manifestations, adding more power to your intentions. good for rituals/spells. great time for releasing or banishing rituals, manifestations spells and meditation. good for charging and cleansing. Moon water

Waning Gibbous:

winding down of moons power. sun is moving away and taking its light with it.

best for: turn inwards and evaluate what has happened over last few days. think about full moon ritual/meditation and readjust your intentions goals for the rest of the month

Third Quater:

illuminated on the left side. back to half power and is fading.

best for: let go of what is holding you back, let go of any negativity in your life. Examples: self-limiting beliefs, people who aren’t great for you or your life, fear and basically anything that isn’t serving you or letting you progress in your life. Cleanse yourself and home.

Waning Moon:

power of moon is nearly over. small crescent left in night’s sky. nearly time for new moon and new beginnings.

best for: take a deep breath and surrender to whatever happened and what is beyond your power. don't beat yourself up if you didn't complete any of your goals. dust yourself off and pick yourself up and get ready for a new cycle. Remember to be kind and compassionate to yourself.

 Herbal Preparations

Herbal preparations

The Decoction:

Solution obtained by boiling the plants in a covered saucepan for twelve to thirty minutes, then strained.

The Infusion:

Solution obtained by pouring boiling water over the chopped plants and then filtering.

Herbal teas:

Solution obtained from infusion of decoction or maceration prepared with a lot of water and very few plants.

Maceration:

Solution obtained by leaving the plants in contact with cold water, wine or oil for a few hours, a few days, or a few weeks.

The sirup:

Solution obtained by adding a large amount of sugar, up to 70%, to the infusion or decoction.

The Poultice:

Paste containing oils, starches, mucilages which are generally applied hot to the skin.

The Balm:

Fragrant resin that flows from certain plants, by extension, fatty preparation for external use that calms pain or heals.

The Ointment:

Perfumed oil based on the aromatic essence of plants.

The dye:

Solution obtained by macerating between 5 and 10 days one part of dried medicinal substance, reduced to powder in 4 parts of alcohol.

Medicinal Wines:

Solutions obtained by pouring wine over the plants in a glass container, letting the whole thing macerate and shaking it from time to time, then filtering it.

The Essential Oil:

Volatile aromatic substance obtained from plant raw material either by steam distillation preferably at low pressure or by a dry distillation process called pyrogenation, more precisely the essential oil is considered as the distilled essence of the plant and has the advantage of not containing any fatty substance.

Floral Water:

Or Hydrolat, is the condensed water vapor resulting from the distillation of an aromatic plant and / or a flower which naturally separates from the essential oil at the exit of the still and which is charged with molecules aromatic during distillation, rich in versatile active ingredients. Floral water has an aromatic molecule concentration varying between 0.05 and 0.1%. It complements and reinforces the action of the essential oil, thus allowing safe use.

The Extract:

These are aqueous or alcoholic macerations that are more or less concentrated by evaporation, in this way thick or solid fluid extracts are obtained.

Fresh Juice:

The fresh juice is obtained from crushed and pressed fresh plants. The juice obtained is put in the fridge for a day to let it settle and then it is filtered.

The powder:

Shade-dried plants are finely cut and then pulverized in a mortar. These single plants or in a mixture are sold in sachets (infusette) to make herbal teas that do not need to be strained.

🍀 Oxalis In Magic! 🍀
🍀 Oxalis In Magic! 🍀

🍀 Oxalis in Magic! 🍀

🌱 Oxalis is a very common plant, and a great natural resource for beginning witches because of that!

🌱 Oxalis is bound to Venus and Earth, love and home respectively. This makes the plant perfect for home protection and similar spells home oriented.

🌱 They are also commonly mistaken for clovers! Which makes them great for glamours, they are able to masquerade as something other than themself without trying. The glamour can be made for love especially, because of the ties to Venus mentioned earlier.

🌱 They can be used for luck, not only because of their looks relating to clovers, but because of their own lucky and abundant properties. Use in money and wealth spells for abundance and prosperity, as well as luck spells!

🌱 These plants spread deep roots, which means they can help you with grounding. They are good to eat so consider eating some and grounding yourself before big magical endeavors!

🍀Overall we can see that Oxalis is a very versatile plant, used for love, luck, home, abundance, grounding, glamours. So go out and collect some!🍀

Happy Witching!✨

To All My Fellow New Witches!!!
To All My Fellow New Witches!!!
To All My Fellow New Witches!!!
To All My Fellow New Witches!!!

To all my fellow new witches!!!

Hobby Lobby usually always has their glassware on sale for %50 off!!!

This is perfect for starting to collect your moon waters and simple herbs.

The little heart jars I have dried rose petals in which I think is just adorable. Then I have basil and pink Himalayan salt in some bigger ones.

You can also keep regular sea salt in one so you can hide it away from your family’s kitchen.

This is perfect for me because when things have a more witch aesthetic to it, it gives me more motivation to continue with my craft. It’s also just really fun 😁

But seriously some of these go down to a dollar and I think that’s incredible!!!
