Are you in need of some unique earrings? Are you in to Renaissance and Roman Baroque styles? Or do you have a jewellery obsession like me?
Here comes a Roman Gentleman named Diego Percossi Papi, well actually his creations have been around since 1968 when his little atelier opened next to Rome's Pantheon. Where else could you imagine him to be!
Originally trained as an architect Signor Papi taught himself how to make jewellery and enamelling. With a keen eye for colour and historical vintage jewellery his pieces have been used in many movies, including the superbly costumed movie Elizabeth:The Golden Age starring Cate Blanchett(first image). There is a hint of Faberge in his use of colours and the magnificent jewellery that I saw on my trip to St Petersburg.
You can order pieces online or when in Rome stop by his atelier and be transported to another era.

Its arriving next week, the Fairs of all Fairs! Pavillion of Art & Design London Edition. For me is the most elegant and beautiful of them all. All my favourite galleries under one roof, with impeccably curated stands. I go several times during the week even if its not large to take it all in and eye pieces that I can dream of owning one day, or just feel good after seeing such beauty.
If you have never been go and if you have go again.

Acrylic , there seems to be so many different types of names for this plastic , Lucite being my favourite, something to do with the quality and colouring and how wears with time, that is why I leave the technical data to the experts.
What I do know is that here are so many beautiful ways to use this material as shown above, I always like Lucite/Acrylic for its light but yet durable quality. The way it reflects light and seems to be complimentary to finishes like brass, leather , wood to name a few, or Just with bold colours that offset strong lines in a modern design. It inspires me, maybe ill contact one of these designers to customize something for me.
Plastic is fantastic xo

This stunning and vast estate of 25,000 acres of land, beaches , lagoons was the private home of the late Sir James Goldsmith. Set on the Mexican Pacific coast near Careyes Cuixmala is a special place. The land is dotted with villas , casitas and bungalows all in different locations and sizes.
With an incredible range of activities from horse riding, mountain biking , tennis , volley ball , kayaking, fishing , surfing to name just a few. The most interesting is that Cuixmala is set on nature reserve , home to 270 types of birds, wild boar , deer , foxes , crocodiles and the endangered Jaguar. Not to leave out the Zebras and the Turtle Protection Programme, the giant sea turtle comes to lay their eggs every year were the staff gathered them to protect them from predators and poachers until they hatch and then are returned to the sea. Guests are able to assist with the guidance of biologists, have look at the wonderful Eco Cuixmala Foundation Website for more information.
There is also a club house and a boutique and of course spa services. At Cuixmala you can rent individual rooms at the various locations or rent the whole estate for a big party or wedding. How amazing would that be.
So wish I was there right now, missing the sun and nature.

Maggie Austin started her career as a classical ballet dancer, then having been accepted at L'Art de la Patisserie program at the French Pastry School, Maggie trained with the best world renowned chefs and pastry champions learning the top techniques in this art using the finest of ingredients. She Graduated from the program with honors, after which was accepted for internship at Charlie Trotter's in Chicago , a Mobil Five Star, AAA Five Diamond and 10 time James Beard Foundation Winner that is recognized as one of the finest restaurants in the world.
Truly an Art, her Haute Couture cakes are just perfection, inspired by Edwardian Botanical prints, fashion designers such as Alexander McQueen and Carolina Herrera, Flowers , textiles and more. They are lovingly made by hand at her Washington DC Studio, yes even the flowers are made from sugar, impressive. I have never seen such elegant and beautiful cakes, there are such perfection that you just want to throw yourself a party to have one made.
Just Splendid xo
