This right here.
I try my damndest to reply to as many comments on my visual art as I can because that art is my fulltime job.
That is not the case with fanfic authors; they owe their readers nothing. You got that reading experience for free, out of the kindness of the author's heart. If you leave a comment, that is fantastic, but that doesn't create any further obligation on the writer's part, imo.
It is nice when authors reply to our comments, but they don't owe us any interaction. I am personally thankful and overjoyed for every single wonderful comment I get on my visual art, as I'm sure all fanfic authors are for their literary art, but it takes a huge amount of time and mental energy to reply to comments.
I frequently (like, very, very frequently) hear my author friends talk about how stressed and guilty they feel for not keeping up with comment replies, and I think that's a shame. That's a hobby for them, not a job. The hobby should be fun, not a stressful obligation.
So would you rather have a reply to your comment or another chapter of your favorite fic? I know which I'd choose.
And maybe in 2025 fanfic authors will reply to comments more too and not ignore their readersπ€π€
I try to respond to every comment I get. These days I rarely get one so itβs easier because I only get something posted like twice a year. Back in the day though it could get overwhelming. I do try.
I originally painted this for a project that got delayed fairly substantially, and given today's news, I thought we could all use some South Downs fluff. Love you all so much, Q

Do you guys wanna make some beaded friendship bracelets together or something?
Maybe get some rad matching jackets?
Or forehead tattoos of a baphomet?
Anyway, thanks to each and every 1,002 of you for hitting "Follow."
I wish I had fancy new art to offer you to commemorate this momentous occasion, but I don't, so instead here's a run of everything I've posted because it's neat to see how much I've improved in the EIGHT MONTHS (IT'S ONLY BEEN EIGHT MONTHS?????) that I've been making art full time.

@goodomensonprime
#please don't take him just because you can :(
Can I be so for realsies for a minute I don't even think Crowley is Masc either (at least in the show). In my heart of hearts he's BUTCH which is a different thing from being A Masculine Straight-Passing Man. Crowley would get called a metrosexual in 2003 for wearing jeans that fit you people are Not going to pretend like he can "pass"
