your birthday had never been a big deal to you. sure, you appreciated the messages, the cake, the occasional gift, but you never expected much. so when joão asked you a week before what you wanted to do, you just shrugged.
‘whatever you want, i’m happy with.’
he had frowned at that, shaking his head. ‘nah, this is your day. i want to make it special.’
you didn’t argue, just smiled and let him plan. and now, waking up to soft kisses trailing along your shoulder, you figured you’d made the right choice.
‘bom dia, meu amor,’ he murmured, voice still heavy with sleep. ‘happy birthday.’
you turned over to face him, heart melting at the sight of his messy hair and sleepy smile. ‘thank you.’
he kissed your forehead before getting up. ‘stay in bed, i’ll be right back.’
you obeyed, stretching under the covers, wondering what he was up to. moments later, he returned with a tray, fresh fruit, pastries, a cup of coffee just the way you liked it.
‘breakfast in bed?’ you teased, sitting up.
he grinned. ‘of course. only the best for my birthday girl.’
you laughed, taking a bite of a flaky croissant. ‘if this is how you do birthdays, i might start liking them more.’
joão’s eyes softened as he watched you. ‘that’s the goal.’
the morning passed lazily, the two of you tangled in each other, talking about everything and nothing. he didn’t rush you, didn’t push any plans, just let you enjoy the slow start to the day.
eventually, he pulled you up from bed. ‘come on, we’ve got places to be.’
‘where are we going?’
he smirked. ‘not telling.’
you groaned, but let him lead you outside, where his car was waiting. the drive was peaceful, his hand resting on your thigh as he hummed along to the music.
when he finally parked, you blinked in surprise. ‘joão…’
he had taken you to an art museum, one you’d mentioned in passing months ago, saying you’d love to visit someday. you hadn’t expected him to remember.
‘you said you wanted to come here,’ he said, rubbing the back of his neck. ‘thought it’d be a nice way to spend the afternoon.’
your chest warmed at the thoughtfulness. ‘this is perfect.’
he smiled, grabbing your hand as you both walked inside.
you wandered through the exhibits, taking your time, soaking in the art. joão wasn’t the biggest art guy, but he listened when you talked about your favorite pieces, nodding along even when he didn’t fully get it.
at one point, he pulled you aside, his eyes sparkling with mischief. ‘if you could steal one painting and no one would ever know, which one would it be?’
you bit your lip, scanning the room before pointing to a serene landscape painting. ‘that one.’
he chuckled. ‘good choice. mine would be that weird abstract one over there.’
you laughed. ‘of course it would.’
after the museum, he took you to a cozy little restaurant, another place you’d mentioned wanting to try. the dinner was perfect, filled with laughter and quiet moments where he just looked at you like you were the best thing he’d ever seen.
when you got back home, you were sure the day was over. but joão had one more surprise.
he led you to the living room, where a small box sat on the table. ‘open it.’
you shot him a look. ‘joão, you didn’t have to—’
‘just open it,’ he insisted, grinning.
rolling your eyes fondly, you lifted the lid. inside was a delicate necklace, a small charm in the shape of a star hanging from the chain.
‘because you’re my estrela,’ he murmured, fastening it around your neck.
you swallowed past the lump in your throat, turning to him. ‘this is…’
he cupped your face, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. ‘i just wanted you to know how much you mean to me. i hope today was everything you wanted.’
you smiled, pulling him into a hug. ‘it was perfect. you’re perfect.’
he chuckled, kissing your temple. ‘happy birthday, meu amor.’
and for the first time in a long time, you really, truly loved your birthday.

it was a cold day in kensington where you lived but you had to go to chelsea just for some errands. in the end you stumbled into a cute cafe on the edge of the road.
you don’t expect to see him. not today, not like this.
one second, you’re just going about your day, lost in your own world, and the next, you hear his voice. not through a phone speaker. not filtered by distance. but real, right there.
your brain takes a second to process it. because it’s one thing to facetime someone every day, to hear their voice in your ear at night, to recognize the way they laugh, the way they tease, the way they say your name like it belongs to them.
but it’s another thing entirely to see them in person.
you stop in your tracks, heart hammering, eyes scanning the cafe like you’re hallucinating. but no, he’s right there, standing near the counter, scrolling absentmindedly through his phone, completely unaware that you’re staring at him like the world just tilted on its axis.
you should say something. you should.
instead, your phone buzzes.
joão: what are you doing right now?
your breath catches. you glance up at him again. it’s so weird, seeing him like this, taller than you imagined, the way he shifts his weight from one foot to the other, how his hoodie is slightly oversized like it always is in your calls.
he still hasn’t noticed you.
nothing. why?
you watch as he reads it. he types for a second, then stops. then starts again.
joão: just wondering.
he lifts his head, eyes flicking up for just a second.
and that’s when it happens.
his gaze meets yours.
for a moment, neither of you move. you don’t breathe. he doesn’t either.
then, slowly, like he’s making sure you’re real, he lowers his phone.
‘no way,’ he murmurs.
you let out a breathless laugh, lost for words
his lips part slightly, like he doesn’t know whether to smile or freak out. ‘this is..’ he cuts himself off, shaking his head. ‘i was literally just texting you.’
you hold up your phone. ‘yeah. saw that.’
he laughs, rubbing a hand over his jaw. ‘okay, this is crazy.’
‘a little bit.’
‘like, what are the odds?’
‘apparently very low,’ you say, eyes still wide. ‘yet here we are.’
he lets out a disbelieving chuckle, then tilts his head at you, something softer in his expression now. ‘so… do we acknowledge that this is probably fate?’
you pretend to think. ‘hmm. or just a very, very weird coincidence.’
he smirks. ‘so, fate.’
you roll your eyes, but you’re smiling.
he takes a small step closer, hesitates for half a second, then grins. ‘hi.’
and just like that, you realise, this? whatever this is? it’s real. and it’s happening.

Barcelona lost the match against Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou, three to zero. Today everything went wrong.
You sighed sadly, getting up from the chair with the rest of your friends. You headed for the exit, but when you thought about the traffic jams, the Coca-Cola you drank during the match filled your bladder.
“I'll join you, I'll just hop into the bathroom” you said to your friend and she nodded.
You slipped past the security guard unnoticed, looking for the toilet, and as soon as you found it, you were distracted by strange noises.
Curiosity got the better of you and you forgot about your needs and headed towards the noise.
You peeked your head slightly from behind the wall, and the sight you saw surprised and worried you at the same time.
Gavi had his face in his hands after kicking the nearby bench, and his knuckles were red from hitting the brick wall.
He leaned his back against the wall, sitting on the cold floor, trying to catch his breath. He was furious that they lost. He felt that he had let down the fans and himself, that he could have done something more, but it didn't happen.
You walked up to him with gentle steps and said:
"Hey, are you okay?" you asked and he started in fear at the sudden voice, widening his eyes at you.
You crouched down in front of him, not wanting to scare him any more. You could tell by his current behavior that he was having a panic attack.
His breathing was rapid and uneven, he was sweating profusely, and his eyesight was unfocused. He looked around anxiously and moved his leg, holding his heart with one hand, which was probably racing.
You grabbed his hand with one hand and cupped his face with the other, trying to figure out how to help him.
"Gavi, look at me. Inhale and exhale, you're safe here" you said, rubbing his injured knuckles and his cheek.
You knew he heard you, but it was hard for him to do what you said. He looked at you with eyes full of help, his breath wheezing.
There was only one solution in your head, the one you saw in one of the TV series, so without waiting any longer, you kissed the boy to divert his thoughts.
You were able to feel his surprise during that brief moment, but you were even more so when he kissed you back.
His lips tasted sweet and were soft to the touch, your lips moving in sync as if they were the missing piece of a puzzle. He squeezed your hand. His heartbeat slowly returned to normal and his restless breathing calmed down.
You broke away from him with a slight blush of embarrassment and you could see the same on his cheeks.
"I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't do this, but I wanted to help you somehow, divert your thoughts somehow" you said awkwardly in one breath.
“You have nothing to apologize for” he laughed softly, his voice low and making you shiver. “You helped me, so thank you” he added, and you gave him a bashful smile. "Just, how did you come up with the idea that this would help?" he asked and you giggled awkwardly.
“In one show, a girl kissed a guy when he was having a panic attack and it helped him, that's all I could think of” you scratched your head, looking at the floor, you heard his soft chuckle.
“Well, it worked” you looked back at him, he was smiling softly, looking at you softly.
You both laughed at the situation, relaxing the atmosphere and it turned into a comfortable one.
“I'm sorry again” you said, feeling unsure.
“You really have nothing to apologize for, you helped me” he explained, taking your hands in his warm ones. “Besides, I liked it” he added more quietly, making you blush.
He scanned you with his eyes and a shiver ran down your spine as his eyes landed on your Barcelona shirt.
“Great shirt” he blurted out with a smile. "With whom?" he asked, referring to the name on the back of the shirt.
"What do you think?" you asked flirtatiously and he gave you a sly smirk.
"With me?" he asked also flirtatiously.
You brushed your hair to the side, then turned your back to him for a moment, revealing a T-shirt with the number "6" and a large "GAVI" written on it. When you turned back around, he had a huge smile on his face and was looking at you with a mysterious twinkle in his eye.
"What's your name?" he asked suddenly.
“Y/N” you announced.
“So Y/N” he started. "Since we've already gotten to know each other to some extent, can I invite you for coffee?" he finished with an uncertain smile.
Blushing, you gave him a wide smile.
"With pleasure".

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
you had never expected your life to take such a turn. just a few months ago, you were living your life like any normal young woman, full of plans and dreams. then came the news, you were pregnant, and the father of your child, the one you thought would be there, walked away without a second glance. it wasn’t how you imagined things would go, but here you were, ready to raise a child on your own.
except you weren’t alone.
your twin brother, pedri, made sure of that. when you needed somewhere to stay, he opened his arms and his home to you. he insisted you move in with him, giving you a safe place to stay as you navigated this unexpected chapter in your life. pedri, especially, never hesitated. despite his busy career and lifestyle, he made it clear that his family always came first.
as the weeks passed, you found yourself adjusting to your new reality. the emotional rollercoaster of being pregnant was hard enough, but then there were all the practical things you never thought about, how to handle the sickness, the exhaustion, the constant worrying about your future and your baby. but through it all, you had pedri by your side.
pedri, especially, had always been the one to take care of you. no matter what you needed, no matter how much of a mess you were in, he was always there. but now, with a baby on the way, he was taking his role of “uncle pedri” to a whole new level.
one afternoon, pedri walked into the living room, looking unusually serious. you were sitting on the couch, your hand resting on your belly, feeling the baby move inside. he stood there for a moment, looking like he was trying to figure something out.
‘so,’ he said, his voice hesitant, ‘i’ve been thinking. we need to figure out how to take care of her when she’s here.’
you raised an eyebrow, glancing up at him. ‘you? take care of her?’
pedri plopped down on the couch beside you, looking more than a little nervous. ‘i mean… i’m her uncle, right? i have to help, but i don’t really know what to do. i’ve never… well, i’ve never had to take care of a baby before. like, really take care of one.’
you couldn’t help but smile at his nervousness. ‘it’s okay, you’ll figure it out. it’s not as hard as it seems, i promise. she’ll need the basics, like diapers, bottles… and a whole lot of love.’
he nodded, clearly relieved but still uncertain. ‘diapers, got it. bottles, no problem. but what about… i don’t know, when she cries or when she’s upset? how do i know what to do?’
you chuckled softly, giving him a reassuring look. ‘you’ll know. it’s all about listening to her. babies are just… they’re a lot of work, but they’re also so simple. when she’s hungry, you feed her. when she’s tired, you let her sleep. when she’s fussy, you just hold her until she feels better. i promise, you’ll pick it up.’
pedri looked a little more relaxed, but the concern was still there. he placed a hand on your shoulder, his voice soft. ‘i just want to make sure i’m doing everything right. for you, and for her.’
you smiled warmly at him, your heart swelling with gratitude. ‘you’re already doing great, pedri. just being here for me is all i could ask for.’
the weeks passed, and pedri became more and more involved in the preparations for your baby. he went from asking about diaper brands to learning how to swaddle a baby, and he never hesitated to ask you questions whenever he was unsure. it was endearing to watch him step into his role as an uncle, and it made your heart ache to know how much he cared.
one night, as you were sitting at the kitchen table, preparing a late night snack, pedri walked in, looking exhausted but still with that familiar warmth in his eyes. he leaned against the counter, watching you as you worked.
‘you okay?’ he asked softly.
you looked up at him and smiled, but this time, there was a hint of vulnerability in your gaze. ‘yeah, i’m fine. just… i don’t know, it’s a lot sometimes, you know?’
pedri’s face softened, and he moved to sit next to you. ‘hey, i’m here. we’re in this together, remember? i’m gonna make sure you have everything you need, and i’m gonna be the best uncle i can be. you don’t have to do this alone.’
his words hit you right in the chest, and you felt your eyes water. you’d never known how much you needed to hear those words until now. pedri wasn’t just being an amazing brother, he was being the support you needed, and you were so grateful for it.
‘thank you,’ you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. ‘you don’t know how much this means to me.’
pedri gave you a small, reassuring smile. ‘i’m your twin, y/n. i’ll always be here for you. always.’
you hugged him tightly, feeling the weight of everything start to lift, knowing that with pedri by your side, you weren’t alone anymore. together, you would figure this out, and nothing could take away the bond you shared.
epilogue::
a few months had passed since the day you moved in with pedri. the baby was almost here, and your life had started to settle into a routine, a new normal that you were slowly growing accustomed to. pedri had been everything you needed, more than just a brother, he was your rock, and he had truly stepped up to be the best uncle.
the day you had been anticipating had finally come. the hospital room was a whirlwind of activity, but all you could focus on was the tiny little life you were about to meet. pedri, as always, was right there by your side, holding your hand through every contraction, whispering words of encouragement, and making you laugh when you felt like crying.
after what felt like an eternity, your daughter was born, small, fragile, but perfect. you held her in your arms for the first time, tears brimming in your eyes as you stared at the miracle in front of you.
pedri stood by your side, his eyes wide with awe as he looked at the baby. he gently leaned down and kissed your forehead, his voice soft. ‘she’s perfect, y/n. you did it. we did it.’
you smiled up at him, the exhaustion from labor suddenly fading away as the overwhelming love for your little girl filled your heart. ‘we did it,’ you echoed, your voice shaky with emotion. ‘she’s ours, pedri. we’re gonna be okay.’
the days that followed were filled with sleepless nights, diaper changes, and a lot of learning. but through it all, pedri was there, always willing to help, always ready to step in whenever you needed him. he wasn’t just an uncle anymore, he was a protector, a guide, and most of all, a constant source of support for both you and your daughter.
one evening, as you were sitting on the couch, holding your baby, pedri came in from the kitchen with a bottle of water and a smile on his face. ‘hey,’ he said, sitting beside you. ‘how’s my little niece doing?’
you looked down at your daughter, who was peacefully sleeping in your arms. ‘she’s perfect,’ you said softly. ‘and so are you.’
pedri laughed and shook his head. ‘no, i’m just trying to keep up. i don’t know how you do it, y/n. you’re amazing.’
you leaned your head on his shoulder, feeling the warmth of his support and love. ‘i couldn’t do it without you, pedri. you’re the best brother anyone could ask for. you’re not just an uncle, you’re a father figure to her too.’
pedri’s expression softened, his eyes tender. ‘i’m just glad i could be here for you. for both of you.’
the days turned into weeks, and as the months passed, you began to see how much pedri’s bond with his niece grew. he wasn’t just an uncle in title, he was her protector, her playmate, and her biggest supporter. watching the two of them together, laughing and bonding over simple moments, made your heart swell with pride. pedri had become everything you knew he would be, an amazing brother and an even more amazing uncle.
life had a way of surprising you, but one thing was for certain, no matter what happened, you would always have your twin brother by your side. and together, you would continue to write this new chapter in your lives, full of love, laughter, and the joy of having a family that stuck together through thick and thin.
as you sat with pedri, watching your daughter sleep peacefully in your arms, you realized that despite the challenges, you were never really alone. you had the family you needed, and nothing could take that away from you.

MASTERLIST
It had been a week since your first date with Joao, and yet, you still weren’t over it.
You and Lila were sprawled across your bed, a bowl of popcorn between you as music played softly in the background. Lila was lying on her stomach, scrolling through her phone, while you stared at the ceiling, reliving every little moment from that night.
"So, let’s recap," Lila said, tossing a piece of popcorn in the air and catching it in her mouth. "You guys went to that cute little Italian place, talked for hours, he walked you home, and then—"
You groaned, covering your face with a pillow. "Lila—"
She grinned. "And then he kissed you on your doorstep like something straight out of a rom-com!"
Your face heated up. "Okay, yes, fine. He kissed me."
Lila sighed dramatically. "Ugh. It’s like a football fairytale. Do you think I should start writing wedding speeches now, or—"
You threw a pillow at her. "Shut up."
She cackled, but before she could continue, your phone buzzed on the nightstand. You reached for it lazily, not thinking much of it—until you saw the name on the screen.
Joao.
Your heart did a little flip. He hadn’t called you out of the blue before.
Lila immediately noticed your expression. "What? Who is it?"
You swallowed, turning the phone toward her.
Her eyes widened. "Oh, my God. Answer it! What are you waiting for?!"
You took a deep breath, then picked up. "Hey, Joao."
There was a pause. Then, finally, his voice—soft, hesitant. "Hey."
Something was wrong.
You sat up, suddenly alert. "What’s going on?"
Another pause. Then—
"I’m leaving England."
The words hit you like a punch to the stomach. "What?"
Joao exhaled. "I just got the call. I’m going on loan to AC Milan. I leave tonight."
Your heart dropped. "Tonight?"
"I wanted to tell you sooner, but everything happened so fast," he said, his voice tinged with regret. "I don’t want to leave without saying goodbye. Can you come to the airport?"
You felt like you couldn’t breathe. Joao was leaving. Just like that.
Lila sat up beside you, watching your expression shift from confusion to sadness. She didn’t know what was happening yet, but she could tell something was wrong.
You swallowed hard, gripping the phone tighter. "Yeah," you said, voice barely above a whisper. "I’ll be there."
Joao let out a small breath, like he was relieved. "Okay. I’ll see you soon."
When you hung up, Lila grabbed your shoulders. "What happened? What’s wrong?"
You blinked, trying to process it all. "Joao’s leaving. He’s going on loan to Milan. Tonight."
Lila’s mouth fell open. "What the hell?!"
"He wants me to come to the airport so we can say goodbye."
Lila was already jumping off the bed. "Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!"
The drive to the airport was a blur. You stared out the window, trying to keep yourself together, but the lump in your throat was growing by the second.
"He’s going to come back, you know," Lila said, glancing at you. "It’s just a loan. He’s not leaving forever."
You nodded, but it didn’t make it hurt any less.
By the time you arrived, the departures terminal was busy with travelers rushing around, but you only had eyes for one person.
And then—you saw him.
Joao stood near the check-in area, hoodie pulled over his head, hands tucked into his pockets. But when he saw you, his whole face softened.
You barely took two steps before he was in front of you, looking down at you with those warm, familiar brown eyes.
"Hey," he said softly.
You swallowed. "Hey."
His gaze flickered over your face, like he was trying to memorize every detail. "I didn’t want to leave without seeing you."
You nodded, trying to smile, but your throat was tight. "I’m really gonna miss you, Joao."
His brows furrowed, and then suddenly, his hand was cupping your cheek, his thumb brushing gently against your skin. "Don’t cry," he murmured. "I’ll come back."
You let out a shaky breath. "You promise?"
His lips quirked up in the smallest, saddest smile. "I promise."
And then—he kissed you.
Soft, warm, lingering. Like he wanted to stay in this moment forever. Like he didn’t want to leave at all.
Lila, standing a few feet away, practically squealed under her breath. "Oh my God."
But just as you melted into the kiss, something inside you snapped.
You suddenly pulled back, heart racing.
Joao blinked in confusion. "What’s wrong?"
You didn’t even think before you said it. "I’m going with you."
Joao’s eyes widened. "What?"
"You can’t," he stammered, looking completely overwhelmed. "You have a life here—"
"Yes, she can," Lila interrupted, stepping forward with a wicked grin. "I’ll pack your stuff and send it to you. Go."
You turned to her, heart pounding. "Are you sure?"
Lila rolled her eyes. "Babe. The love of your life is about to get on a plane. Go."
Tears welled in your eyes, but this time, they weren’t from sadness. You threw your arms around Lila, hugging her tightly. "I love you so much."
She laughed. "I know. Now get out of here before I start crying too."
You turned back to Joao, who was still staring at you like he couldn’t believe this was real.
"You really want to come with me?" he asked, voice soft, uncertain.
You smiled, taking his hand in yours. "There’s nowhere else I’d rather be."
For a moment, he just looked at you, his lips parting like he wanted to say something. But then, instead of speaking—he kissed you again.
And this time, it wasn’t a goodbye.
i’d like to thank allah, lewandowski, raphinha and lamine yamal for my happiness and for the fact that im alive! i’d also like to thank pedri and gavi for being an honourable mention to my will to live. they are amazing and thank you for making this first half bearable and thank you mbappe for injuring your foot and uhm yeah visca barca

the apartment felt quieter than usual. the soft hum of the city outside and the distant buzz of your phone were the only sounds that kept you grounded as you stared out of the window. it had been a long day, and all you wanted was some peace. but that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.
kieran’s voice broke through the silence, though it was quieter than usual, almost uncertain. ‘i think i’m really going to go for it. celtic. end of the season.’
the words hung in the air, thick with unspoken tension.
you didn’t turn to face him immediately, afraid that if you did, you’d betray the way your stomach had twisted in response. you felt the air grow heavy with the weight of his decision. he hadn’t exactly asked you what you thought, but you didn’t need him to. you both knew what this meant.
celtic was his home. he’d always spoken of them fondly, of the pride in representing the club that had raised him, that had seen him grow into the man he was today. and now, after everything, after all the time apart, after the struggles, the ups and downs, it was finally happening.
the move.
your heart ached at the thought.
you swallowed hard, trying to steady your voice. ‘it’s... it’s a good opportunity, kieran. for you.’
it sounded almost dismissive, even to your own ears, but you couldn’t make yourself say anything else. because the truth was, a part of you was afraid. afraid that this was the moment that everything would change. that maybe you weren’t ready to let go of what you had here. or that, perhaps, you weren’t ready to follow him into this new chapter of his life.
kieran didn’t respond right away, and you finally turned to face him. he was sitting at the kitchen counter, his eyes fixed on his phone. his shoulders were tense, but his face, his face was the same as always. the face that had smiled at you in countless photos, that had comforted you when things felt rough, that had been the one constant in your life for so long.
but now, it was a mask. a mask you weren’t sure you could break through.
‘you don’t seem happy,’ he said softly, his eyes lifting to meet yours.
you took a shaky breath, the lump in your throat growing with every second. ‘of course i’m happy for you. it’s celtic. it’s everything you’ve worked for. but... but what about us?’
the words spilled out of you before you could stop them. you didn’t want to be selfish, but you couldn’t help it. his dream was becoming a reality, and you... you didn’t know where you fit into that anymore.
‘what about us, kieran?’ you repeated, your voice trembling. ‘are we at a place where... where i should follow you? can we keep doing this long-distance thing? or is this the end?’
the question hung between you, thick with all the unsaid words that had built up over the past few months. you’d both been busy, so busy, between his commitments, your own, that the time together had become sparse. and with this looming decision, with the inevitability of his move to celtic, you couldn’t ignore it anymore.
kieran was silent, his gaze falling away from yours. ‘i didn’t want to put that pressure on you,’ he said quietly. ‘i don’t want to make you feel like you have to come with me.’
‘but i’m not sure i’m ready to leave everything behind,’ you confessed, your voice cracking. ‘i’ve built my life here, kieran. my job. my friends. i can’t just pick everything up and go.’
his eyes softened, and he stood up from the counter, walking over to you slowly, carefully. when he reached you, he cupped your face in his hands, his thumbs brushing away the few stray tears that had fallen.
‘i didn’t mean to make you feel that way,’ he murmured. ‘i’m not asking you to leave everything behind for me. but you’re part of my future. that’s not something i can just... walk away from.’
you blinked up at him, trying to process the gravity of his words. you wanted to believe him. you wanted to believe that you could make it work, that love could conquer distance, could conquer time.
but it wasn’t that easy. not when you were being pulled in different directions, your own future uncertain.
‘and what if this doesn’t work out, kieran?’ you asked, your voice barely above a whisper. ‘what if you go to celtic, and things change? what if we change?’
he closed his eyes for a moment, as if the weight of your question was too much to bear. then, with a slow breath, he replied, ‘i don’t have the answers. i don’t know what the future holds. all i know is that i want you in it. i want us in it. but i can’t ask you to follow me if you’re not ready.’
the silence that followed was deafening. you wanted to reach out to him, to hold him, to reassure him that you didn’t want to lose him. but you also needed to be sure of yourself. you needed to know that you were making the right choice, for both of you.
‘kieran...’ you started, but the words caught in your throat.
he kissed your forehead gently, and you melted into him, allowing yourself the brief comfort of his touch. ‘whatever you decide, i’m not going anywhere,’ he whispered. ‘but i’m here for the long haul, and i need you to know that.’
you closed your eyes, allowing yourself to feel the warmth of his words, even if they didn’t fully ease the uncertainty in your heart. for a moment, you allowed yourself to lean into him, to breathe in the scent of him, to just be with him. you weren’t ready to make a decision, but you didn’t want to let go of what you had, either.
the future was uncertain, but in this moment, you had each other. and maybe that was enough to keep you going.
for now.

‘why am i doing this again?’
toni was sitting stiffly in front of you, his arms crossed over his chest, watching with narrowed eyes as you laid out your makeup products on the desk. he was clearly trying to act like he wasn’t into this, but the way he kept sneaking glances at the different brushes told you otherwise.
‘because i asked nicely,’ you said sweetly, picking up a beauty blender. ‘and because you love me.’
he rolled his eyes. ‘i don’t remember agreeing to this.’
‘well, you didn’t say no either, soooo…’ you trailed off, smiling.
he sighed, rubbing his temple like you were giving him a headache. ‘you better not make me look stupid.’
you gasped, clutching your chest in fake offense. ‘excuse me? when have i ever made you look stupid?’
toni gave you a look. ‘do you want me to list examples?’
‘shut up and let me do your makeup.’
he huffed but sat up straighter, finally relenting. you straddled his lap, cupping his face between your hands.
‘okay, first of all, you have great skin,’ you said, smoothing some primer over his cheeks. ‘this is almost unfair.’
he smirked. ‘good genetics.’
‘whatever.’ you rolled your eyes but couldn’t help smiling.
as you started blending foundation onto his face, he sat incredibly still, his jaw tense like he was concentrating hard.
‘toni, you can relax,’ you giggled.
‘this requires focus,’ he said seriously.
you snorted. ‘it’s literally just makeup. you act like i’m giving you stitches.’
‘you’re holding something very close to my eye. i need to be prepared.’
he was being so dramatic, but you loved it.
you worked quickly, adding concealer under his eyes, setting everything with a light dusting of powder. his sharp cheekbones made contouring a dream, and when you brushed highlighter onto the high points of his face, he blinked in surprise.
‘it’s shiny,’ he murmured, turning his face slightly.
‘yes, baby, that’s the point.’
his brows furrowed, but he didn’t argue.
when you got to the eyeshadow, you hummed, tilting your head. ‘i think a soft brown would look good on you.’
toni raised an eyebrow. ‘you sound like you’ve been waiting to do this for a long time.’
you grinned sheepishly. ‘maybe.’
he sighed, but there was no real annoyance behind it. ‘just don’t make me look like a clown.’
‘trust me, i’m making you look pretty.’
he muttered something under his breath, but let you continue.
by the time you finished blending the eyeshadow and adding a tiny wing to the corner of his eye, you were practically bouncing with excitement.
‘okay, you literally have the perfect face for this. you look so good.’
toni turned to the mirror, studying his reflection. his brows lifted slightly, his lips parting in surprise.
‘huh.’
‘see? i told you!’
he tilted his head, his fingers ghosting over his cheekbone. ‘i look… kinda cool.’
‘kind of?’ you scoffed. ‘you look incredible.’
he turned back to you, the corner of his mouth twitching. ‘alright, fine. you did a good job.’
‘thank you,’ you said smugly. ‘now, let me take a picture—’
toni’s expression immediately dropped. ‘no evidence.’
‘but—’
‘no.’
you pouted. ‘but you look so pretty!’
he sighed, shaking his head. ‘fine. one picture. just for you.’
you grinned, quickly snapping a photo before he could change his mind.
but later that night, when he thought you weren’t looking, you caught him staring at his reflection again, tilting his head side to side, admiring the soft glow on his skin.
‘do you want me to do it again sometime?’ you asked, biting back a smile.
toni cleared his throat, looking away. ‘i don’t care.’
but the way his ears turned pink told you everything you needed to know.

Pablo Gavi (FCBarcelona) - Ugly Sweater
Day 25 of Christmas
Prompt: Ugly Sweater Contest
25 Days Of Christmas
Happy Christmas!
The camera zooms in on the bustling training ground of FC Barcelona. The players are gathered for a unique challenge, and the atmosphere is electric with excitement. Pablo Gavi and Y/n Y/l/n are at the center of it all, surrounded by an array of colorful fabric paints, glitters, and other crafting materials scattered across a large table. “Hola culers, I am Y/n Y/l/n, here with Pablo Gavi and we are here to see who can make the ugliest Christmas jumper.”
“Vamos, Y/n!” Pablo exclaims, his eyes glinting with mischief. “Who do you think is going to make the ugliest jumper?” Y/n rolls her eyes playfully, a grin spreading across her face. “Please, Pablo. You’re the king of ugly. I’m just here to help you look good for once”
“Yo y lo feo no deberíamos estar en la misma frase. A veces me sorprendes, Y/n.” He responds with a laugh, grabbing a neon green paint. “This is going to be epic!” Y/n couldn't help but laugh at the new word he learned just earlier that week: epic. As they dive into the challenge, they begin painting and glueing random materials onto their sweaters. Y/n grabs a handful of googly eyes, sticking them haphazardly all over her sweater. “Mira, Pablo. Un monstruo.” She declares, giggling. Pablo, not one to be outdone, quickly snatches a handful of bright pink feathers. “Ves esto? I’ll make a flamingo sweater. Que original.”
“Original? Creo que quieres decir horrible.” Y/n teases, sticking a paintbrush covered in blue paint into his hair. “Ese es el punto de este desafío, no?” The crew laughed behidn the camera as Pablo tried dodging the paint, but failing miserably. “Oh my god, I am so sorry!” Y/n laughed, not meaning to actually paint his hair. Pablo laughs, attempting to swipe the paint off his head but only making it worse. “You’re going to regret that, Y/n. Just wait until I win this challenge!”
As the clock counts down, they both put the finishing touches on their creations. Pablo, with a shirt that looks like a flamboyant bird’s nest, and Y/n, with a monstrous creation covered in eyes and glitter. “Okay, time’s up! Muestra tu suéter!” Yhe crew shouts, eager to see their creations. They step back, proudly displaying their sweaters. Pablo poses dramatically, striking a pose that makes the crew burst into laughter. “Mira esto! El más feo del mundo!” He declares. “More like the most ridiculous.” Y/n laughs, sticking her tongue out at him. They both turn to the camera, their playful rivalry shining through.
“Okay, final round is a catwalk.” Y/n says, glancing at Pablo with a mischievous glint in her eyes. As they both momentarily turned around to put their jumpers on, the crew let out a few quiet laughs. They counted down from 3 and turned to face eachother, looking one another up and down. Y/n hummed. “You know, it’s hard to have an ugly sweater when you have a face like that.” She gestures playfully at him, her words laced with flirtation. Pablo’s cheeks turn a deep shade of red, and the crew erupts in laughter. “No te rías de mí!” He protests, trying to hide his embarrassment. But his playful smile gives him away.
“Sorry, Pablito, but you really can’t help it.” Y/n adds, leaning closer as she pretends to inspect his sweater. “Qué dices? I’m handsome?” He grins, his blush deepens. “Pero, mi suéter es más feo.” Y/n scoffs. “Más feo? Have you seen mine?” Y/n raises an eyebrow, unable to contain her laughter. “I think you've lost this challenge, guapo.”
“Alright, alright! Let’s just let the viewers decide who’s the winner.” Pablo says, regaining his composure, but the smile never leaves his face. “But we both know it’s going to be me.”

SY: your mood is determined by your boyfriend’s habits, and you find yourself in a depressive state; however when your friends catch on that you’re not doing too good.. he’s one phone call away.
A/N: i have seen your other request ip! & it’s half done but im just struggling to finish it 🥲
Warnings: this is more wordy than how i would usually write (?)
Monday morning.
The worst kind of morning.
It was 9:01am, as you stumbled late into class, tripping over your own shoes as you made your way to your seat. Your body felt like lead as you dragged your way up, vision blurring at the edges of your eyes from sheer exhaustion.
This was your fourth late to Sr. Pieria's class this week, but he meerly glanced your way as if he was unbothered.
Collapsing between Clara and Maria, you let your textbooks crash onto the desk with a thud that made several classmates jump. Your heart felt as heavy as your eyelids, and the fluorescent lights above were piercing daggers into your skull.
Last nights 5am spiral wasn't exactly... ideal.
You’d spent hours worrying about everything: your worth, your relationship with João, and how everything felt like it was falling apart.
Ever since your second trimester began, you’d been pushed from London to Manchester to finalize your Sociology degree. 163 miles apart from João, and now… it felt like he was slipping away.
The last text he ever shot you with was a measly 'goodnight' two days ago - that now flipped into three.
You shiver at the thought.
Why were you still waiting for him to reply?
“Hey y/n, are you okay?” Maria's voice broke you out of your thoughts, shooting you a worried smile."You look like you're gonna pass out. When's the last time you actually slept?"
“Today.” you manage to mutter weakly.
"Your phone light was still on at 3am hon." Clara rubs your shoulder, her touch cool against your burning skin.
"I wouldn't exactly call 2 hours of sleep... sleep."
You glance down, unsure what to say. You had no appetite, no energy to focus and the iron tablets were the only thing keeping you semi-functional.
“Y/n!" your professor booms. "Could you tell me Planck’s equation? We discussed it yesterday.”
Great, yesterday.
You barely remember what you had to eat last night, never-mind a whole 24 hours ago. You stare down at the notebook in-front of you, desperately scrambling through the pages.
A few seconds passed, but it felt like hours, and still—nothing.
There silence in the room seemed to stretch, only the sound of your fingertips gliding through the paper; your cheeks flushing with frustration.
The words on the page suddenly seem to blur, hot floods of water pricking at the brim of your eyes. Your brain was foggy, and the build up of emotions from the last couple days had slowly taken advantage of you - plummeting you into a vunerable void.
You did know the answer. So why couldn't you say it?
“It’s E = hf, sir.” a boy near the front snickers. “Somebody ought to pay attention to the class.”
Your professor sighed, disappointed. “You should of knew that y/n, I expected better from you."
You didn't look up, your face burning with embarrasment.
Maria grimaced, turning your way. "Did you at least eat anything this morning? You’re looking freakishly pale."
"Wow thanks." you sigh and pull your sleeves over your wrists.
The truth?
No you hadn't eaten - hardly any mornings even.
"Y/n, I'm really worried about you," Clara whispered, "You've changed recently, you don't seem like... y/n. Not the one we know."
"No Clara, I'm fine. I just wasn't hungry today alright?" you snap.
She pouts softly still gazing into the side of your face. "Your never hungry babe, do I need to call Joa-"
"No." you say firmly, as a few of your peers glare at the three of you.
"He might be able to help-"
"No." you repeat hushed. "He's busy, there's no point."
The last thing you wanted to do was involve Joao, especially with what was happening.
Maria went to protest, until you cut her off by retorting. "I'm fine. I don't need any help, from anyone."
You let out a sharp breath, scribbling doodles on the corner of your page. You felt bad for snapping at them in such a way, but your life was just a blur.
A blur of not sleeping, running late, failing grades, and a measly 'goodnight' text from your boyfriend 3 days ago to cling onto.
{…}
After the two long hours, the second bell rang for your next class.
You quickly gathered your things into your arms, dizzily stumbling you way along the hallway to Sr. Silva's lecture.
As you pass a nearby window, you briefly glanced at your reflection: dark purple under-eyes, severely dry lips, somewhat messy hair falling over your forehead, with your untucked shirt draping low over your skirt.
God, you did look awful.
"Hey y/n! Wait!"
Clara came jogging from behind, a playful smile gracing her lips.
"What Clara?" you look down at your watch, "I have sociology in like 3 minutes." you grunt, just wanting to be alone.
"Could you just do me a favour? Just run into our dorm and get my lanyard? I think I left it on your dresser by accident." she replies sweetly, the corner of her lips curling.
She hands her the key-card for your room, and you hesitantly accept it whilst hoisting your bag strap further along your shoulder.
"Why cant you get it?"
"I have to just.. sort out my folder. Y'know all the sheets of paper Sr. Silva gives us." she laughs and you blankly stare at her.
The grin on her lips made you suspicious, as she was also bouncing on the heels of her feet - but then again, Clara was always so bubbly in the weirdest situations.
"Alright, fine." you grumble.
"Thanks!" her smile widening. "I'll wait right here for you."
You give the blonde a half-hearted smile before following your usual footsteps back to your room, quickly scanning the card on the handle and clicking the door shut behind you.
The room was cold, with a familar scent wavering through the air. At first you blink, your mind instantly travelling to your boyfriend, who at second thought, wouldn’t travel this far during his schedule.
You took a step further into the room, when your heart froze.
Standing in-front of you, looking as surprised as you felt, was Joao.
"Amor?" he asked softly, standing up. His eyes were searching yours, for something he seemed to endlessly miss.
"João?" you whispered, your voice breaking with each syllable.
The brunette nodded, stepping closer with his arms opening to pull you into his tight embrace. You didn't know what to say, your throat swollen with emotion.
Joao snaked his arms around your neck, his lips on your temple.
"I had to see you," he murmured against your skin. "I couldn't stay away from you for one more second."
You couldn't speak. You just leaned in closer to him with your chin on his shoulder and you clasp your eyes shut as you let unshed tears slide.
"Deus, senti tanto a tau falta." (god i missed you so much)
“I missed you too,” you cry, letting more tears fall.
The weight of the past few days - everything that you were holding back, had melted at his touch.
João's hands slid down to your waist, his thumbs gently brushing away your tears as if he needed to prove to you that he was really there.
"Eu te amo muito, querida." (I love you so much darling)
The bell rung somewhere far away, the floods of students outside sounding so distant, but he held you closer, tighter, with his lips finding yours.
The kiss was soft and feverish, slightly salty with the tears still pooling from your eyes. João cradled your body protectively, rubbing circles to the back of your hair.
"I never want to be away from you again," he ensured, his voice also cracking. "I don't care what happens. We'll make this work."
You felt your knees weaken, threatening to buckle beneath you, but your boyfriend's hold kept you safe.
Clara was probably giggling to Maria somewhere, secretly congratulating themselves on their plan, but you couldn't care less.
Not now, not ever.
Feeling his heartbeat sync with yours, everything else faded away - every worry, every ounce of pain, exhaustion.
For the first time in days, you felt like everything was going to be okay.
[this was rushed forgive me🙏🏼]
