I haven't played ENA: Dream BBQ yet, btw.
Oh, there's so much about the life-action movie we've been having lately. First, the leaked frame with Toothless and Hiccup, then the first trailer (which I'll talk about much later), and now this photo from the filming, where we can see the local Astrid and Snotlout, which I'm going to talk about.
Astrid, for starters. I actually really like her design from her hairstyle to her armor. Yes, it doesn't look much like the design from the original movie, but damn, the new design is still very good. I don't even have the words to say how much I like it.
And also the armor design looks like something in between Hiccup's armor and Astrid's clothes from the second movie. I'm not the only one who sees the resemblance, right?
Among the disadvantages of Astrid's life-action image, I can note the absence of small skulls and spikes on clothes. Like, these are important details of her image, which well showed her sharp and belligerent nature. And the fact that they are not there makes me kinda sad. And this is purely a matter of taste, but I would like her to have a blue shirt, not a red one (I never liked her red shirt).
And now about Snotlout. I don't even know what to say about him. His clothing design is kinda meh. There is no hatred for the actor, but, as for me, he is too thin and small for the role of a big dumb bully. Like, I don't believe that this cute guy can bully other people, especially because of their physical strength and small build.
Like, in the original, Snotlout was such a standard of appearance and behavior of the Vikings of the Berk. Big and strong, and because of it, it doesn't matter that he's dumb. And his design emphasized this well.
And here... Meh.
In fact, he looks more like 16 years old Gustav than Snotlout.
G3 Lagoons Blue redesign! Because the design of the new Lagoona infuriates me. It sucks. This design basically describes all the problems of the new generation. Everything is too colorful, a bunch of different colors are mixed, the lack of gothic and the meaning of the character is lost. So I decided to fix it. Returned her previous color (her name is Lagoona Blue! Blue! Not Pink!). I added more black and added ideas that I thought were cool. I think that, unlike her friends, Lagoona will be less concerned about fashion, more about comfort and practicality for swimming. She will wear a bathing suit, and over it a bomber jacket and shorts to quickly take off and jump into the water. And Lagoona will not wear much makeup, because makeup tends to be washed off when it comes into contact with water, she will have such a light make-up. That's all.
I like that they admit that the furious five have pretty silly names.
Okay, here's another redraw. I tried to make Sunny's tail like in the movie, but I failed. Yeah. But I really like Hitch.
Y'all know, it would be nice if the Hazbin Hotel had a character through whom viewers could seamlessly explore the lore of this universe (yes, I know there are so many characters, but in my opinion, such a character could well be). It could be a newly arrived sinner who came to the hotel, cornyly afraid of everything going on in hell. And since they doesn't know the hell here, just like an audience, they could ask important questions about the structure of the world, like: who are overlords? what happens to a sinner if they are killed by angelic weapons? what areas is the circle of pride divided into? and the like.
Important remark: the character is not the main protagonist, but a secondary character.
A tiny redesign of Octavia.
I don't mind her original design, except that she dresses too loosely for, well, a princess whose mother is concerned about what others might think, and, probably, that she looks like an almost identical copy of Stolass. I didn't work too hard on her redesign, I just put Via in a simple dress and tried to make her a mix of both her parents, not just her father.
Maybe in the future I'll try to do a more complete redesign.
My most hated trope in mlp is that Twilight is justifiably angry at something, but she is wrong and in the end she should apologize.
Are Twilight's friends acting irresponsibly and childishly while all their friends and family suffer in slavery? Twilight is such a meany that she was the only one who was serious and tried to take at least some action to save Equestria 😡. Does her annoying fan follow her around and disrespect her personal space, although it's obvious that she's uncomfortable with it? Well, it's her own fault that she didn't say she didn't like it (it sounds very much like victim blaming), so she needs to apologize to him for yelling at him, duh 🙄.
I f#cking hate this trope so much, you can't imagine.
