One small detail in Encanto that always chokes me up is the fact that Pedro kisses each of the triplets goodbye before sacrificing himself. I don’t know why, but it just gets me every time. It cements the tragedy of his death because it reminds us that, not only did Alma lose her husband, but the triplets also lost their father, a father who clearly loved them deeply. Félix and Agustín get a lot of (well deserved) credit for being great dads, but I want to take a moment to pay respect to the amazing father Pedro was and would have been.
