yes I love a lot of the silliness of rtc but… my favorite thing about it will always be the spookiness. How hauntingly beautiful it is, if that makes any sense at all. Yes it can be stupid and silly, but it can also be creepy and haunting, and I live for all of that.

not sure how to articulate this but i’ll try my best

honestly one of the best parts of npmd/ hatchet field in general is the potential for dynamics

like every character is so fun and charming that u could basically mix and match them however and it always works

prolly most obviously is the idea of jon matteson’s characters being a family, the idea of them all at thanksgiving is brill, but why stop there?

like i could just put names in a generator and every result has dozens of scenarios and possible dynamics

they could hate each other or be madly in love and either way be in character

idk what it is but this is by far my fav savanah scene. in general these two are really special to me, individually and together

like i understand they’re well meaning, but they still suck a bit. like, creating a new language is cool, but now he doesn’t know asl and can’t communicate with anyone else

it sort of bothers me how his parents are illustrated as loving and attentive. to me it seams more like they were unprepared for having a disabled child, then never put any deep thought into it?? like they have solutions for the short term, but otherwise sort of avoid the problem- which extends to ricky himself
